Advice wanted for couple relocating from Southern QLD

Myself and my fiance are planning on relocating to Armidale or Guyra as there appear to be more opportunities there than what there are in Stanthorpe QLD which is where we live at the moment, any advice that can be provided such as areas to rent or not rent properties, rego advice etc would be greatly appreciated :)
