"Nice place to live"

Boondall is a great place to live. Lived here all my life, has great schools, near public transport, plenty of parks and is also home to the Brisbane Entertainment Centre, where concerts and shows are held. A friendly community and a pretty clean environment. Also 30 mins to the city.

"NIce suburb but too far from cbd"

Boondall is improving but there is still a mixed demographic (some petty crime) and is quite far from the city

My brother lived there for 20 years and never experienced petty crime. Not too far from the city, close to Bne airport and quiet. Sounds great to me.

"Really is like a small country town - everyone knows every one in a really friendly way!"

Boondall is a middle family suburb that seems to fly under the radar - it's still relatively affordable to buy, rent and live in the area yet with SO many features and conveniences that should definitely make it even more popular in future. Known for very loyal residents - many people stay in the one area for years and only move to upsize / downsize. Easy Access to the Gateway, Boat Ramp & Cafes at Sandgate up the road. Multiple Childcare & Reputable Schools both public & private. Train Station is easy to get to with plenty of parking. Handful of little shops and bakerys but only a few sets of lights to Taigum Centro for your major shopping at Woolworths. Generally nice big blocks - pet & kid friendly with off leash areas off College Way & on Beams Rd. They're all good pockets in Boondall & seem endlessly popular for buying and renting. Nothing ever takes long to sell or rent out. Also alot of renovations happening throughout the area, a few newer houses but the street appeal is certainly updating very quickly I've noticed over the last few years. Personally I love working in the area and will definitely be staying a local!

"Great up-coming suburb with all you could ask for"

I enjoy Boondall for its ready access to a whole range of things: 12 minutes to the domestic and international airports, 3 minutes to the Gateway to head north or south, train line to the city (30mins), and plenty of local shops big or small.

The block sizes are generally bigger than surrounding suburbs and are more established having not suffered the general blanket clearing most developers now do.

Overall a great, affordable suburb for young families and retirees alike.

Great for

  • Affordable, good sized blocks
  • Quiet, secluded.
  • Transport, good access.

Not great for

  • Needs some 'adventure' playgrounds
  • More take-away dining options

"A hidden secret in my opinion."

We recently returned to the Northside of Brisbane and chose Boondall due to the fact you get a little more house for your money. The additional benefits include public transport, , quiet surrounds, access to both Gold and Sunshine Coast plus being 15 minutes to the airport is wonderful (frequent travellers). Taigum Centro is nearby and there is a new IGA currently being built at Sue's Corner. College Green Estate is safe and quiet, everyone is generally house proud and we rarely see overgrown lawns - at least not in our section. The Entertainment Centre is within walking distance and hosts some fabulous events. There is also beautiful picnic areas and a lake inside the Entertainment complex. Virginia is close for all your superstore needs i.e. furniture, outdoors. Sandgate is also just up the road if you like the bay area. All in all, a good location, quiet & safe. The only downside for me if that the exterior fencing of the College Green Estate is starting to fall over and look ratty which doesn't give a good impression of the area from the outside which is a shame, because it is much different inside the estate.

Great for

  • Quiet, secluded.
  • Transport, good access.
  • Still affordable.

Not great for

  • Not many playgrounds.

"Come move here, we will be suprised"

Have lived in Boondall over 20 years. Have moved twice, but love the area too much too move out of the suburb. All my children have grown up in the area. Boondall is a great suburb to live. The area is very quiet and safe to live as a single person or raising the family. It has easy access to public and private schools, public transport, local shops, and major shopping centres. Travelling to or from the city by car, of course at peak hour traffic time can be annoying. But really this problem would be happenng to all suburbs at peak hour times. There are dog parks in the College Green Estate and plenty of other parks for the family to walk around, play or just relax and enjoy the wild life. Mulbeam Park is great for the family on the weekends. The Entertainment Centre and the Wetlands are easy access for other entertainment. The local bakery at Sue's Corner has fantastic food and the service is great.
Just wished we had ADSL2 in the College Green Estate and the trains ran a bit more often between 4pm to 6pm Monday to Friday's on the Shorncliffe line.
People thinking of buying property in Boondall, think about this suburb. You would not be disappointed.
