"Boring Bowral"
Boring
Dull
Nothing is convenient
Everything is at sloth pace… no even slower….. drive through… do NOT stop as you will be disappointed…. Before stepping out of the car.
No good coffee, worst food ever… over priced… they try to hard and fail to epic proportions….. moving date soon I hope…

"Country town with elegance"
Bowral is stunning!!! Four definite seasons & all have a special time. Spring is tulips, winter is for red wine and fires, autumn is about playing in the leaves and summer is for running through the lush green grass. And these are just the things we do without spending money. Bowral offers many accomodation types and eateries and activities as well.

"Beautiful place but lack of basic infrastructure and maintenance"
Honestly its a beautiful place. Also a great place to raise young kids as its pretty safe and quiet. During the seasons of spring and autumn its simply stunning here. Can be busy on the weekend with tourists but that is to be expected as its 1.5 hrs from Sydney and almost the same from Canberra.
What does let the place down however, is the lack of decent infrastructure with very poor road conditions, lack of footpaths, minimal park maintenance and general presentation with litter left alongside roadways etc.

Oh also hardly any footpaths or decent infrastructure. Kids walking to Bowral High School have to walk on the road as there is no footpaths for them to use. This is normal around here, 10 years ago the council gave away free safety vests to ratepayers to try to mitigate their safety obligations, seriously.
We pay some of the highest council rates in Australia and they got a substantial rise a few years back to improve infrastructure and are honestly now doing less. Parks are not well maintained and the council doesn't do much about it.
The council ignores ratepayers
Do yourself a favour, don't do it as there are much better places to live....
so where do you suggest is a good place to live then?
"snobby"
People there are complete snobs, if you live in moss vale or Mittagong they will look down on you. shop workers are usually rude but the shops are all pretty close together, on weekends its not the safest place to be on the main street due to the pub crawlers, way to expensive, and public transport is horrible.
Not great for
- The shop keepers, the new-rich
- Parking is becoming a problem
