Hi, I am looking to rent an apartment in the Eastern suburbs. I currently own a house in Point cook however, I am planning to move to the East primarily because of the convenience it offers in terms of travelling to the CBD and good schools. I am looking to rent a 3 bed apartment with amenities like gym and swimming pool(that's very important) and also closer to the train station and a good primary school.

Box Hill is good (if you're near the station in Central Box Hill) and on the cheaper end. However it's also increasingly windy and busy and about 7 new apartment towers are going up in the next 5 years. 3 bed here ranges around $450 and up (prices down due to international students and families leaving).
Hawthorn is much closer to CBD and near heaps of great schools but a 3 bed will set you back at least $650 a week.
