Are the sandflies a problem in Broadbeach Waters? We are hoping to buy a waterfront property.

IF you live on any canal there's usually a sandfly/midge problem for a short time in summer - I live in a unit block (on the 4th fl) on a canal and only let a couple of sandflys per year so no hassles

We have lived in BW for 3 years and YES - you need Aerogard Tropical at every exit of the house - and need to spray even when hanging out the washing except for windy days. However, the beauty of living on the canals is the best so it is only a little problem.

No offence, but if you can afford a water front property in Broadbeach I don't think sandflies would be your main concern. They are such polar extremes you may as well be in the Artic .
