Is it safe to swim in the canals boarding your property?

We have started looking at BBWaters as our potential new home to raise our family and we are really keen on a waterfront property. I'm concerned my little boys will end up as shark bait! lol!

Hi, I lived on a canal in Broadbeach Waters for 13 yrs. As a teenager I swam in the canal. Often eels and stingrays would swim around the boat moored at our neighbours jetty. Canals have had sharks. I wouldn’t swim in canals these days. Good luck with the move Broadbeach Waters has some great streets.
