Hi AngelaE,
Three great areas to choose from!! But it all depends on what you are after from home base.
Brunswick offers all the amenities - great public transport (3 train stations) and 3 tram lines. Great shopping along Sydney rd - both for clothes and fashion to all you need at home from supermarkets. Living spaces tend to be on the smaller side of the 3 choices but it depends on you budget or what you would be willing to compromise.
Brunswick East - Larger blocks (generally) than Brunswick so you will have more space and most of the streets in the northern part are wider as well so a little more family friendly. Lygon St will be your go to for entertainment - bars and cafes at your finger tips and give you a great reason to get out and about.
Coburg - Space wise you will get something larger for a cheaper price - whether it be for sale or for rent. Streets are wider and feels more family friendly. Sydney road (continuing from Brunswick) has everything you need - cafes and some restaurants, but dont expect the nightlife of Brunswick. Also public transport is great here - 3 train stations (Moreland, Coburg and Coburg North).
Hope that helps.

Hi AngelaE,

I find they all have their pros and cons depending on what you are looking for. Coburg is a little quieter, it has a lot more cafes than bars, but it's still really convenient to everything, and tends to be slightly cheaper.

Brunswick East has the bonus of being close to Lygon street, with amazing food, and also close to Nicholson St with the 96 Tram to St Kilda.

Brunswick has great shopping and food.

All three are great multicultural communities with a focus on community. Moreland in general has a great and welcoming culture, I'm sure you will be happy no matter where you end up. Feel free to contact me if you are still looking for a place.
