"Community vibe in the inner city."

Featuring large blocks of land for inner city location along with a great community feel you think you are in county Victoria. But then you will be reminded of the close proximity of the city with quickest tram in the north (route 58) or perhaps a day at the Melbourne Zoo is what you are after
Restaurants Mister and missus M on Melville for your morning coffee and snack, finish the night a Cirelli & co and you will be more than happy with your choices of food for the day.
With some amazing views on offer of the city or over the Moonee Valley racecourse (if you know the right places), Brunswick West is a great place to call home.

"Great value for money, peaceful and spacious"

Most Brunswick west properties have large parcels of land located on wide quiet streets. Surrounded by lots of parks and reserve it is ideal for families and pet owners.
After moving in from Richmond, we felt our stress level reduced heaps. It’s so much safer here we don’t have to look over our shoulders for thugs or look down on the ground in case of discarded syringes. Less congestion, cheaper property with large backyard, quiet but still close to the trendy Sydney road, with a mix of old charm and hipster hype . Tram no. 55 runs pass the zoo, Children’s hospital , Melbourne University ,CBD all the way to Toorak. Locals are excited a new cinema will be built near Barkly Square!
Not forgetting to mention there are a handful of quality primary schools and Brunswick Secondary College is catching up with Northcote High and Strathmore.
So grateful to be living here.

"Trendy Inner North Suburb"

Closer to the city than Prahran (in the south east) but half the price, double the culture and much more friendly!

New cafes and restaurants popping up all the time, 2 tram lines and a train line, new luxe indie cinemas being built, independent distilleries hidden down laneways - what more could you want! Recently designated by the government as Melbourne’s creative hub, fashion, designers and agency folk are all streaming in providing a great eclectic mix of people sitting in the bustling bars and cafes. Loads of parks and open spaces, big blocks and stately federation heritage listed homes in the blue ribbon streets of Albert and Hunter.

Quickly gentrifying, it’s still much more affordable than the south east, and has great community spirit. Made up of young professionals working in the city, young families and students (thanks to a university campus in Brunswick).

"Close to everything and convenient transport but all the benefits of living in the outer suburbs"

My partner and i moved here a year ago and love it. I feel like we discovered a secret! We used to live in the city and north melbourne but they were so busy and grey. Now we have heaps of greenery and parks but are still close to the city! Its close enough to moonee ponds and brunswick that youve got shops and restaurants nearby but far enough away that you dont get the hustle from cars and people being around. The locals are friendly, chatty and caring, its a community. We have made two really good friendships with our neighbours that will have forever, its that kind of place. Its more family and quiet so if you want the hipster and party vibe I would move to brunswick not brunswick west.

We are renting but i would definitely buy. We live in an apartment block that looks over the moonee valley racecourse so have fantastic views and sunsets. Lots of apartment buildings in the area so its fun to find hard rubbish you can turn into something amazing or resell yourself. Its not dirty, nicely maintained gardens and minimal litter.

Great for

  • Affordable rent
  • Friendly people
  • Nice green spaces

"Great neighbourhood with a diverse demographic."

We moved to Brunswick West having never visited this part of Melbourne and were pleasantly surprised. The people are very friendly and welcoming, there are many great parks and amenities in the area, and a surprising amount of decent dining options. There are young families here, professional singles and older retirees as well as pockets of ethnic groups. These all give the neighbourhood a great vibe and friendly atmosphere.

"Convenient to everything!"

Neatly positioned between the dynamic and bustling suburbs of Brunswick and Moonee Ponds, Brunswick West (or West Brunswick) offers a generally more relaxed lifestyle to its residents yet very close to the shopping and café districts of its more extroverted neighbours. Only 5-7 kilometres from the city, most of the area was developed in the early twentieth century with a significant amount of quality Californian Bungalows in particular dominating the elegant streetscapes. Consequently, block sizes are larger and there are far fewer single-front homes here than in Brunswick or Moonee Ponds making it an attractive destination for young families. In the 60s and 70s, many of these older homes on large blocks however went by the wayside to make way for multi-storey blocks of units making the area popular today with investors and renters alike. Melville Road runs down the centre of the suburb and provides a tram link into town as well as hosting a number of shops, small businesses and cafés. Bus services offer quick transit to Brunswick or Moonee Ponds plus there are also a number of local schools and reserves, Moonee Ponds Creek bike trail, north and south exit/entry points to Citylink.
