"We experienced a high rental demand in Clyde (Jan 2020)"

We have just leased a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom property at Pump House Crescent. We have experienced a high demand for this property. We have received many inquiries and applications. We have found this area very pleasant and peaceful. We agree, that Clyde still needs some improvement in infrastructure but it will happen.
If you have kids, Elm Park is a must visit! :-)

"Its a booming suburb with infrastructure developments on its way!"

Clyde is a developing suburb. Like every new suburb that is getting build it has its pros and cons. People moving into this suburb should be open to accept this and should think long term. There are still estates, land releases and residential developments happening in this suburb with roads, infrastructure and other amenities getting build.

As I closely follow the infrastructure development of this suburb, I know there are developments happening with Clyde PSP and finalisation of design framework of Clyde Major Town Centre under way (*which is planned to have an estimated 50,000 sqm of retail floor space and 50,000 sqm of commercial floor space). The delivery of the Town Centre will be staged over time in a phased manner.

This year (2019) on the corner of Berwick-Cranbourne and Thompsons roads a new 16,600-square-metre Bunnings DIY warehouse will anchor stage one of MAB Corp’s 38-hectare project, which is set to include showrooms, a petrol station, a childcare centre, food and beverage outlets and leisure facilities in addition to 65 industrial lots ranging in size from 1000 to 3000 square metres each.

There is Cranbourne East Train station on its way with a possible line extension till Clyde.

New primary and secondary schools are approved and is getting build including the upgrade of Clyde Primary school

Casey Fields stadium and other developments underway. Visit Casey Fields master plan for more info.

**There are developments in and around Clyde happening and I believe in 3 to 5 yrs time this will be a mature excellent suburb to live in.. People with long term plans should get into this suburb before its too late.

Rentals in Clyde

"Pretty awful"

I hope this place improves. So many families seem to be moving here with the current housing price's pushing people out of Melbourne.

"Nothing going for it."

The house price boom has pushed regular income people into these horrible, characterless, deserted suburbs. I could not think of a worse place to live. Every house looks exactly the same, there is no tree coverage due to it being a former farming area, and the only source of food I saw was a McDonald's. Even though the area is full of new families, there isn't even a decent school around. It also doesn't help that it is the most burgled area in Melbourne (along with Cardinia). Public transport options are few and far between with only a bus service to Cranbourne station in the northern part of town. Try to rent in a much more established suburb, even if it means compromising on size.

"Booming family oriented area without adequate infrastructure/planning"

I grew up in Clyde on a farm. Over the past 10 years I have watched the huge growth in the population of Clyde with new estates and new homes popping up all over the 'Clyde corridor'. Early on land was reasonably priced, but it has gone up in recent years where you pay more for smaller lot sizes probably due to the suburb neighbouring the more prestigious postcode and amenities of Berwick.

Clyde is a good spot for young families who can't afford to buy in Berwick and don't want to live in Cranbourne or as far out as Pakenham. You're close to the many top primary and secondary schools in Berwick. Fountain Gate in Narre Warren has decent shopping and also has a Village cinemas, it's about a 15 min drive from Clyde. There is no public transport at all in Clyde at the moment. Closest is Berwick station- about 10 mins drive.

However, peak hour and school pickup traffic is a nightmare. With seemingly never ending roadworks happening on Clyde Road because the 2 lane road can't handle the volume of new residents that need to use it daily.

Not great for

  • Traffic congestion/ no public transport
  • Not many shopping options other than basic supermarkets
  • New land developments everywhere

"Great lifestyle. Close to all amenities whilst living far enough away from noise."

Very peaceful and beautiful place to live. After living in a run down suburb for over 20 years, I wanted a change. After settling in, I cannot imagine going back to the noisy suburbs.

Great for

  • Larger land lots
  • Quiet and Peaceful

Not great for

  • Shops are only five minute drive to Cranbourne or Narre Warren. No more than if you were to drive to a shopping centre in the suburbs.
  • Its and extra 10-15 minutes to get into the City

"We could never go back to 'the burbs'"

We came from a highly congested area with graffitti, burn outs and extremely average area. We were a little hesitant as to what to expect. WELL...

We absolutely love it here we are on 1/2 acre which is fantastic as we have children, the neighbours are lovely and traffic congestion is at a minimum. Devon Meadows still has that country feel with being extremely close to amenities (Cranbourne, Tooradin, Fountain Gate, and the Mornington Peninsula).

We LOVE LOVE LOVE it and would recommend it to EVERYONE!!!

Great for

  • Quiet and Peaceful
  • Larger land lots
  • No graffitti and littering

Not great for

  • Its and extra 10-15 minutes to get into the City
  • No supermarket at arms reach, but this is just something that I am use to and will have to get use to

"Country town suited to families"

A rural looking town sitting 50km south east of Melbourne, Devon Meadows has a population of approximately 1600 and is most suited to families and retirees. Nestled between Junction Village, Cranbourne East, Clyde, Pearcedale, Cannons Creek and Tooradin, this country town boasts local bus services, an Aussie Rules football team and a tennis club. Other features of Devon Meadows include a fire station and a community hall, as well as a primary school which currently holds about 300 students from the local area.
