Reviews of Concord, NSW

"Great suburb for family living"

Concord has come a long way from its working class roots. The solidly built and well maintained freestanding family homes on tree lined blocks evoke suburbia from another time. The main shopping strip on Majors Bay Road has acquired a decidedly upmarket feel, and the other main commercial strip along Concord Road in neighbouring North Strathfield is also fairly lively. Lots of sports facilities including golf courses, and a pleasant waterfront walk. The addition of great schools makes it a 5/5 suburb for families. All that is left of the old industrial Concord is the Bushell's coffee factory - even that is now surprisingly picturesque. The only downside is the traffic along Parramatta Road, Gipps Street/Patterson Street and Concord Road. These roads meet at a spaghetti junction with the M4, which is often a traffic nightmare.

"Just moved here and couldn't be happier"

We moved last year to the area after staying in Leichardt for 12 years. Concord is a wonderful suburb with more space. Properties are situated on larger blocks and the streets are wide and spacious. The pathways are neatly kept and there is an overall sense of pride in the general upkeep. There is a local library which is well stocked, close access to parks and recreation. All amenities are close at hand. So glad we made the decision to move here!

"A prestige suburb with a lot to offer"

Concord: A prestigious suburb, which is well maintained and highly regarded.

Concord is a quality suburb. There is an abundance of greenspace with many parks, sports fields, and no less than three golf courses within easy driving distance. This suburb has more greenspace than most could dream off. Plenty for kids, dog walkers and growing families. The Concord Oval is also currently being rebuilt and will feature class leading sporting facilities for the West Tigers and community. There are numerous astro-field soccer fields at Majors Bay Reserve and quality cycling links. The pathways are wide and pedestrian friendly.

Over the years this suburb has gone from strength to strength. Recent developments include completion of major transport links and now the promise of the new Metro West line. This is currently under construction and the suburb prices are set to rise even further once this is completed. It will allow commuters to get to all major commercial areas within Sydney. The CBD will be less than 15-20 minutes away and so will Parramatta (Sydney's fastest growing commercial area). This will be accessible from a metro stop at North Strathfield in the future. The area is also well serviced with other trains, buses and motorway links to all parts of the city.

If a wonderful charming village is your thing, then Concord has one of the best that Sydney has to offer! Majors Bay road offers an assortment of dining options, Coles, post office, a CBA bank branch and all the local amenities one would need.

There are many child care options for younger families and great schools close by. There is wide selection of both private and public schools and the neighbourhood is safe and very clean.

There is a sense of pride from all those who live in Concord. Over the years the prices keep rising, but this can be expected in such a well regarded suburb. If you want to keep your money safe, then this is a good bet. Stock can be very tight and it's not unusual to wait a long time to get a hold of one of these properties. As the baby-boomers downsize one can start to see some of these properties get sold, and luxury houses and new family homes replace the old Concord bungalows. Still the area maintains its charm and some of the houses are heritage protected to ensure no overdevelopment. Some of the best streets are Durham Street, Sanders Parade and Links Avenue - however there are many other great parts to the suburb.

If I think hard and had to pick something out, it's not geared for those looking for a busy night life. The restaurants are good but are not for those looking for a wild night out on the town. Having said that, this is more a safe family suburb with great options to suit many.

The people are friendly and there is an abundance of community spirit. Once a year the Concord Festival brings the community together to celebrate it's heritage and community feel. A very well balanced suburb with everything going for it. It seems many here agree!

"Don't think of West Connex! Think wide tree lined streets, family friendly and great social suburb"

Growing up and going to school and then working in Concord for many years, I have seen how the suburb has drastically changed over time.
With an abundance of social and recreational activities to do this is what makes Concord such a family friendly suburb.

Clean, wide and peaceful back streets surround large homes with perfectly kept front gardens or newly developed modern mansions.

Concord is known as very green overall, and its greenery comes in a variety of forms through parks, sporting grounds and its two very large golf courses that are located centrally to the suburb.

If food is what you are looking for, Majors Bay Road offers an abundance of different cuisines at different price points to suit everyone's needs.

We cant forget the kids with activities like Plaster Painting and the local library located in Wellbank Street, and sporting grounds at Greenlees Park and Majors Bay reserve.

Concord really is a family friendly suburb with many in area attractions.

"Hard to get into this suburb!"

I currently rent in Concords however this is such a hard suburb to get a chance to buy into. Everyone wants to get in and I can see why. However owners hold on to their properties for a long time. Major infrastructure projects will make this suburb even more desirable. Sydney Metro West and M4 West Connex. Being right in-between Parramatta Sydney CBD means this suburb will always be in high demand since it is close to jobs and still has a traditional suburb feel. One day I hope to buy,

"Sydney's best kept secret"

Concord would have to be the most rounded suburb in Sydney giving you everything you need. Sure if you are after the night life and parties then this probably wont work. But if your looking for a family environment where you can meet and mingle with like minded professionals then Concords the place. Concord is know for its parks and recreational grounds and has one of the top ten golf courses in NSW.
If your lucky you will live on one of the leafy tree lined streets where you feel like your in the country but also the city. Talking of the city, Concord is only 20 minutes away from central Sydney and in certain streets you are less than 10 minutes walk to the train station.
Of course if eating out is your thing then why not try the famous Majors Bay Road. A fantastic array of restaurants where you can wander and be spoilt for choice.
When you live in Concord you will meet the friendly and interesting neighbours and its very true what they say that most people that live in Concord rarely leave. This is why properties in this elite neighbourhood are rarely for sale. The only negative of Concord is that with more and more people discovering this location the property prices are escalating at a rate of knots and prices are now at the same level as other up market suburbs.

Concord is superb suburb. It has a lot going for it. However it can hard to get access to this market since people tend to hold onto their properties for many years.

"Best Sydney suburb for investment and long term growth"

When you are looking for a suburb to invest your hard earned cash into, you really want to do your homework.

Ideally, it should be close to transport and easily accessible, close to good amenities, convenient with diverse shopping options, abundant recreation choices, close to good schools and green space. The list of requirements can be endless however there are few Sydney suburbs that offer all of these things.

Concord has a proven track record of growth and continues to move from strength to strength. Savvy investors have realised this over the years and prices have consistently grown and beaten the average Sydney capital growth rate.

If you look closely at this suburb it will become very obvious why this will be set to continue for the long term.

Position - Geography plays a really important part. If you cut Sydney into four quarters you will see that suburbs like Concord are at the proverbial cross roads. Transport links move residents easily from north, south, east and west. With few opportunities to cross natural geographic boundaries like the Parramatta river, Concord is conveniently placed. Nearby suburbs such as Breakfast Point, Cabarita, Concord West and North Strahfield and Rhodes continue to increase in prices for the same reason. Concord is also only 12km from the Sydney City. Currently 30 minutes by train or car.

Infrastructure – Concord has access to so many transport options. Whether these be by train, bus, river ferry or car. Few suburbs have such a diverse set of choices.
Transport links are also set to improve even more. By 2017 the WestConnex M4 will be widened and a new tunnel taking traffic past Concord through to Haberfield will also be constructed by 2019. This will be further extended to the Airport and Port Botany with connections eventually to the M5. This will be the largest infrastructure project in Australia. It will mean access to the City, Airport, Port Botany and Eastern and Western suburbs will be cut down dramatically. Suburbs like Concord will benefit exponentially from these road improvements. Not only will there be new road links but additionally the added benefit will mean improvements to Parramatta road. This will include new pedestrian walkways, bus routes and cycling routes. Perhaps even the potential for light rail in future.

Green space and schools – The green space offered by Concord is hard to match. It is one of the greenest suburbs of inner Sydney. It has numerous maintained parks, sporting grounds and not to mention three golf courses within close proximity, including the prestigious Concord Golf course. This is one of the oldest in Sydney, and bordered by one of the best tree lined streets, Links avenue. Some other blue-ribbon addresses within the area include Salt street and Sanders Parade with views over Hen and Chicken Bay. However Concord has a multitude of beautiful streets all with lovely post war bungalows to more modern developments. Some houses are still protected by Heritage.
Concord is also close to some of the best private schools in Sydney and some pretty decent public schools. All serviced by easy access transport links.

Retail – Once again you would be hard pressed to find a suburb which is surrounded with so many diverse shopping options. Starting with which it is within close proximity to Majors Bay road. This has been described as one of the most charming villages in Sydney. A wide street separated by a promenade of hedge rows and trees. This nestles a variety of retail shops and cafes which support the local community. Frequently people dine in the alfresco cafes and restaurants soaking up the laid back feel of the suburb. Whether it be the cyclists taking a morning coffee break, families and friends socialising at their leisure, to the busy professionals taking a quick lunch, or the retirees in their steady stride - Concord has something for everyone.
Other options include retail on Concord Road, retail and dining in the Bakehouse Quarter on George street, Strathfield, Burwood, Rhodes and convenient access to Top Ryde and Macquarie Park.

Investment – Concord is on the doorstep of the Olympic Park. World class facilities which are well maintained. Whether these are for sporting events or for the big entertainment occasions. Its convenience cannot be underestimated. No Olympic Park has been so successful post games in becoming economically viable and supporting urban growth. Thriving communities keep springing up around these facilities and it shows by the house price increases in the surrounding areas.
New apartments continue to appear in and around the Olympic Park showing the best design standards and considerations for modern town planning.

New Parramatta Road – The area of Parramatta road nearest Concord is set for major redevelopment. This includes putting new apartments and retail options to replace the many open car lots. Additional development will happen along Burwood and the Kings Bay area. This will bring many new people to the area and have a highly beneficial effect on the house prices in the area if you are looking for investment growth. Concord is close enough to benefit from this re-investment but far enough to maintain its prestige. This is all part of the Government's plans to redevelop and revitalise the main transport route connecting Parramatta and the City between now and 2031.

That X factor – All said and done, it may little to do with economics, amenities, shopping etc. It can simply come down to a feeling. People who move to area usually don't move out. So property is very tightly held and it is not uncommon to see an owner occupier keep their investment for a long time. This means opportunities to buy here are sometimes hard to come by.
Concord is a clean and well kept suburb, however at the end it really comes down to a feeling of community. Concord with its wide leafy streets is safe and people show a decency and respect for one another. This shows when you speak with people in the area who are courteous, helpful and polite. These are the really special things that make a suburb shine. This will also be the reason why the suburb will continue to grow from strength to strength in future.

Great for

  • Great amenities
  • Close to transport
  • Excellent for solid long term capital growth

Not great for

  • It is getting expensive, but is worth the plunge

I couldn't agree more with Property Guru. The only thing I would add is that it does not take 30 minutes by car. Without traffic it can be as little as 15 minutes to get to the city. However on a weekend with traffic congestion 30 minutes is more realistic. However with construction of the WestConnex this is likely to drop significantly.

"Concord is a prestigious inner west suburb with a lot to offer"

You may look high and low for a good suburb but you'd be hard pressed to find a better one than Concord. It is so wonderfully balanced in many respects. This suburb has a suburban feel to it without feeling like you are too far from everything. Drive around on a Saturday morning and you well see that the streets are filled with people going about their business, whether it be having a coffee alfresco on Majors Bay road, running the kids to soccer practice, getting ready to play a game of golf, gathering for an early bike ride or simply taking their time and strolling in one of the many parks.

This is a suburb with so much managed green space yet it is still close to the city. The transport links will only get better when the West Connex is built. It will mean no part of the city is inaccessible from Concord.

Also, the Olympic Park is right there on your doorstep. World class sporting facilities and entertainment events at your fingertips.
The neighbourhood is friendly, unpretentious and there is a really good friendly vibe about it.

Property can be expensive but if you look carefully you will see that it will never be a suburb that you could go wrong with. It is well placed close and convenient to major economic centres, shopping centres and schools. Take a look at the aerial map of suburbs close to Sydney CBD and you will be hard pressed to see any suburb with so much going for it in terms of green space and convenience.

I love all the inner west suburbs of Sydney. I really rate this suburb as one of the best you can find, especially if you are looking to get away from the closed in feeling of many suburbs in the inner west or eastern suburbs.

"The History Of Concord"

The area was explored by men from the First Fleet 1788, when the lieutenant- governor, Major Francis Grose, made the land grants to six non-commissioned officers of the New South Wales Corps and four other settlers, in an area he named Concord.
Some think it was so named to encourage a peaceful attitude between soldiers and settlers, but the name has an historical significance. During the American War of Independence, the town of Concord was the site of the first battle. Among the British soldiers taking part as an advance guard was 21-year-old Francis Grose. Years later he was in the penal settlement of New South Wales, and he named the newly opened grant Concord.

In 1791, at a place called Long bottom, a stockade was built on the Parramatta Road. The trip between Sydney and Parramatta was too long to be completed in one day, so the stockade was essential protection for overnight stays. Prisoners were detained here for the night on their 24 Kilometre trek from Sydney to Parramatta or vice-versa. Convict road gangs were housed in the original buildings and a small detachment of mounted police was stationed there. It closed in 1842.

A number of well-known colonists were associated with Concord’s early history. In 1797 Isaac Nichols added further properties until he held 600 acres in the district. He called his estate Yaralla. The land was gradually sold off in the 1830’s.
Thomas Walker, a merchant, amassed a huge fortune and in the 1840s he bought Isaac Nichols land at Concord. He gave the mansion he built on it in 1864 the name Yaralla, after the old property name. Walker had only one child, Eadith, who became an untiring worker for charitable causes, and she was created a Dame of the British Empire in 1928. Thomas Walker’s will had set aside $10,000 to establish and maintain what is now the Thomas Walker Convalescent Hospital in Concord. The Dame Eadith Walker Convalescent Home for Men was established in her old home, Yaralla.

Noted men gave their names to streets in Concord. Henry Brewer, a midshipman on HMS Sirius, had one of the first grants in the area and became provost-marshal of Sydney Cove, is remembered by Brewer St, Correy's Avenue immortalises Mr Correy, an early alderman, Brays Rd commemorates the first Mayor, Alfred L. Bray and it is thought that Majors Bay Road refers to Major Francis Grose.
On 11th August 1883 Concord was proclaimed as a municipality. Concord West opened up when the northern railway line went through from Strathfield to Hornsby. Until then it had been part of Concord properly. The construction site of the station was known as Brunswick Park, but when the station was opened on 1 September 1887 it was called Concord. As this part of Concord expanded, it was decided to change the name of the station to Concord West, and this was officially recognised in June 1909.

Today Concord is one of the most desirable suburbs of Sydney’s Inner West. Many of the fine old houses have been renovated, and extended to cater for today’s need for space. Some of them have been replaced by architecturally designed modern luxury homes. Majors Bay Road shopping strip has become the Champs Elysees of the Inner West. The street is wide and tree lined and comes alive at night with strollers socialising and frequenting the many fine restaurants and cafes.

"Couldn't agree more!"

Best suburb in Sydney. So many things to point out.

To quote Anna Anderson:
"In 1952, Mervyn Victor Richardson invented the Victa mower in a Concord garage. He had plenty of inspiration. Concord is known as Sydney’s “parkland” suburb. Many of its tree-lined streets start, end in or border parks or golf courses.

Home to the prestigious Concord Golf Club and Massey Park Golf Club on Exile Bay, Concord also claims St Lukes and Rothwell parks, Concord Oval, Majors Bay Reserve and several more. Residents hardly need a lawn of their own to mow but this is the inner west’s green belt where the average land size measures 529 square metres.

Ben Horwood, director of LJ Hooker Concord, sees locals upgrading, people from the west moving closer to the city and even buyers from the north shore and east where, for the price of a semi, they can upgrade to a family home on a big block. “It’s an outstanding area of growth,” says Horwood. He reports the last six months has seen staggering growth.

Joseph Georges, of Georges Ellis, agrees. “It’s an inner west hot spot.” He believes the upgrading of the Majors Bay Road shops, where you can park your car and dine outside has added to the relaxed atmosphere of this family-friendly suburb. Census data shows 75 per cent of residences have either three or four bedrooms.

Raine & Horne Concord agent Dib Chidiac says families come for the schools, multi-cultural demographic and the space. People from suburbs like Newtown where the average land size is 137 square metres can upgrade to bigger blocks and continue to enjoy a village-based community.

Locals like

The great sense of open space which marks Concord as the inner west’s green patch. The lack of a major public transport hub keeps the suburb quiet while North Strathfield station, Cabarita ferry wharf and city buses cover transport issues. The Majors Bay Road village is the heart of the suburb.

Best addresses

Links Avenue has north-facing gardens backing on to Concord Golf Club. Cummings Avenue has views over Concord Golf Club and Sanders Parade has blocks backing on to, and overlooking Massey Golf Club and Exile Bay. "

"This suburb is going to skyrocket!"

If you thought Concord is expensive now, you haven't seen anything yet. With the WestConnex being built this suburb is going to increase substantially in value. Rejuvenation of Parramatta road will result in residential and commercial opportunities improving dramatically. The blight of traffic congestion will be alleviated. Also with the West Connex surfacing at North Strathfield, Concord will be able to access almost anywhere in Sydney. ie. The City, the Airport, Port Botany. It will be the one suburb with connections to almost every direction.
Also developments on Concord Road are proving make this a beautiful shopping strip and I cannot wait for them to finalize the rejuvenation effort. This has already proved highly successful with Majors Bay Road becoming in my mind the prettiest Village in Sydney.
Least but not least the people are so friendly, and family orientated. There are still wide open streets and footpaths and with so many parks you could hardly wish for more.

"Best suburb in Sydney, solid Investment!"

Really excited about Concord! This is an area which is the most best suburb in Sydney.
New shopping centres, established shopping districts, alfresco dining. Great transport links.
The new West Connex highway will make this suburb boom. It is the best suburb for flat, level and decent size detached living in the Inner west.
A riverside suburb with great potential. Developed on both sides with luxury apartments at Breakfast point. Trendy lifestyle living at Olympic Park. Successful suburban recreation throughout. World class facilities at the nearby Olympic Park.
New shopping at Westfield in North Ryde. Established Westfield in Burwood.
New development at Rhodes which is very popular both for apartments and shopping.
Close to the M4 for access to the West. The new West Connex providing new access to the city and Eastern Suburbs.
Wide open roads and excellent access to some of the best schools in Sydney.
Close to the city with ferry and rail options. Only 13km to the city. 30min train journey.
Lots of open parks and recreation.
Tree lined streets and friendly neighbours. Excellent shopping strip on Majors Bay road. Brilliant library.
A mix of traditional californian bungalows and new houses.
This is and will continue to be the most promising suburb in Sydney.
I can go on and on.....really happy. Best suburb in the innerwest. It's a safe and family friendly suburb.

"Of all the places in Sydney"

I stumbled across Concord quite by accident. I cannot believe how the residents of this fine neighbourhood have kept this Sydney's best kept secret.
Firstly it is conveniently located from the City. Being just far enough that you are away from the hustle and bustle but close enough that it doesn't take long to get in. There numerous transport options, there is rail from North Strathfield and if you wish even ferry from Cabarita Wharf. The train only takes 30 minutes to the city. Secondly this suburb is beautiful especially some of the tree lined streets near Concord Golf Course. The roads are wide and houses a mix of modern and traditional Californian bungalows.
The main commercial street is Majors Bay road which has a wonderful village atmosphere, lots of cafe type restaurants and coffee shops. Perfect for meal and a stroll. This has to be one of the best commercial precincts in Sydney.
Thirdly there is perfect access to major shopping precincts such as Rhodes, Burwood, Strathfield and even Top Ryde is within easy distance. There is no shortage of access and availability to shopping centres and retail options. Additionally there is local Coles and Woolworths which are perfectly sized for convenience shopping.
Fourthly, the access to the recreational activities is immense. There are cycle paths, and parks galore. They don't call this the green suburb for nothing. It has one of the most green spaces of any suburb. Especially considering it is so close to the city. Also it has two golf courses, of which one is the prestigious Concord Golf Course which is one of the oldest in Sydney.
Fifthly, it is so close to some of the best schools in Sydney. Many private and public options makes this perfect for families.
Sixthly it is close to the Olympic Park and all the recreational facilities that are on offer, right on your doorstep.
Finally, there West Connex will be developed which will hopefully provide direct road access to the city and airport. Currently however Concord has perfect access to nearly all parts of Sydney, north, south and west. The only part that needs to improve is access to the east. With West Connex job done!
Cannot believe how perfect a suburb could be. If you can afford it, it is truly a worthwhile investment.
Now my only wish is that I can save enough to put down that deposit. I have been renting for two years and would love to get a foothold in this gem of a suburb.

Great for

  • There are too many to list!

Not great for

  • Access to the east.

"Concord is the GEM of the Inner West."

I cannot believe how convenient Concord is. It has two travel options to the city, either by ferry at Cabarita or by train. Once the West Connex is built travel by car will also be a bonus. I have been renting here and have been on the look out for something. Hope something comes soon as I expect that prices will just keep going up. Also the Olympic Park nearby has been a success and keeps getting better. The surrounding bike paths means I can go for my weekend rides without any trouble.

Majors Bay road in my mind has to be one of the best little villages in Sydney. Lovely Cafes and restaurants that provide not shortage of choice of dining options. Also right in the middle of several major shopping districts, Rhodes, Burwood, Strathfield and Ryde. All within a few minutes travel.
A truly fantastic suburb!

I moved to Concord about a two years ago, previously stayed in the Eastern suburbs and was tired of the small cramped spaces.

"Its changed alot"

Concord has changed a lot over the years. At first the Olympics brought all the recreational facilities down the road to Concord. Then developments in Rhodes and now even close access to the new Top Ryde shopping centre. Burwood is also very close.
Travel to the city is convenient with both ferry and train options. The new West Connex will improve transport by road too.
I can see why so many people see the appeal. The most golf courses and parks for any one suburb and all the world class recreation in the area make this a perfect balance. There is even Concord hospital also close at hand.

"Safe area, great for families"

I've lived here since 1989 and I love it. I have great neighbours who pop in for a cuppa or bbq, a fantastic library, public and catholic schools, great shopping strip with loads of cafes, a Coles, Woolworths, IGA and ALDI within 5 minutes drive of central Concord. Loads of parks, a few golf courses and walking tracks around the Parramatta River. Transport options include rivercat from Cabarita, trains for North Strathfield or Concord West and fantastic bus services. House prices are high but not as high as suburbs such as Haberfield. A great place to bring up a family.

"Parks & food galore - what more could u want"

I lived there for 6yrs and absolutely saw some massive changes in that time. Gone is the small hardware & fruit shops to make way for more cafes down the main street. This could be seen as a bad thing but it has certainly made the suburb more vibrant. The people are genuine and the parks are second to none especially the parklands at Syd Olympic Park a mere 5-10min drive away. Its super close to city by train (Frm Strathfield stn) also its not to difficult to get outa the city if you need to. Just watch 'packed to the rafters' as they film in Concord and you can see so many local highlights.

"Leafy family neighborhood with great shops & cafes."

I have lived in Concord with my family (school aged children) for just over 6 years. We LOVE it. Our neighborhood is walking distance to Majors Bay Road which is filled with beautiful cafes and shops. Our street has ton's of kids and everyone plays outside together, which warms my heart. The schools are excellent with both public and Catholic schools options in the area. The houseing prices have increased rapidly - our house has doubled in the last 5-years. We also like that there is a train station (Strathfield North Station) and a ferry stop (Cabarita) in the area. It is a leafy suburb with lots of Federation style homes on decent sized blocks. It was historically an Italian neighborhood and the shops and cafes still reflect that. We wouldn't want to live anywhere else.

"A small shade of its former glory.. A changing suburb.???"

My family grew up in the area and over the years we have seen the suburb change.
Most of my family and relations still live in and around concord although it isn't like it was once upon a time.
Changing economic and cultural demographics has made this suburb a small shade of its former glory days. Busy traffic, high rents, change in % of owner occupied properties and other factors have made this inner west suburb fall down the ladder in rank.
After 45 years in the area we have finally sold up and headed for the the hills district. Parklands, families and friendly residents. A trait CONCORD once had.. We wont be coming back.

"A perfect place to live, no matter your age"

Concord is near the demographic centre of the greater Sydney Metropolitan area, near the M4 (now Toll free) providing fast and easy access to Penrith and Blue Mountains, or via the M4/Cumberland Highway to the outer Western Suburbs. To the Airport via King Georges Rd and the M5 it takes just 40 minutes and the same to Liverpool.

Nearby are Public Golf Courses like Massey and Barnwell Park and the Prestiges Concord Golf Club, one of the finest in Sydney (established 1899). There are plenty of Parks among them the large and very popular Bi-Centennial Park, Queen Elizabeth Park and Cabarita as well as Bayview Park. There are Tennis facilities, Boating ramps and a couple of Marinas, several Private as well as Public Schools.

The City is only 15 minutes (weekends) away, yet local Restaurants are in abundance, ranging from several Thai, Nepalese, Indian, Brazilian, Italian, Lebanese to Maroccan as well as the traditional Fish and Chips and Chinese, as well as Pizza Places. No need to go anywhere just rotate locally. Have lived in Concord for over 40 years and love it.

"Nice inner-west suburb"

Concord is located in the inner-west of Sydney has one of Sydney’s major hospitals. It is about a thirty minutes' drive from the city. House prices here are slightly above Sydney's median price because of its location.

Concord has plenty of buses from Strathfield station and is close enough to Rhodes to take advantage of Ikea and the shops there. Concord also happens to lie close to the bay areas of the Parramatta river so again, the house prices reflect this. The Majors Bay Road area has some really nice cafes and restaurants which provide plenty of colour for dining options and on the weekend
