Reviews of Cuming Street, Mile End
"Well kept secret!"
Cuming Street is one of the prettiest streets in Mile End and is currently undergoing redevelopment with storm water upgrades. A leafy street it has speed humps to keep traffic in check and has one of the oldest collections of Federation designed homes in Adelaide - many of which have been restored. We bought here so our kids could go to Adelaide High School and we wanted to still be within 'cooee' of shopping, the city and a few good restaurants. We love the yum cha at the Golden Crown on Henley Beach road and Tongue Thai'd is our second favourite haunt. We can also walk to the Wheatsheaf for a quality ale on a hot summers night. We are surrounded by upper income established families many from Melbourne so football banter is solid. Interesting that the Victorians 'get' the fact that Mile End has all the aspects of inner city living without the weirdos and price tag you would expect. We found it after moving home from Sydney and the block sizes are massive so plenty of room for the munchkins to roam free..
