Reviews of Danks Street, Albert Park
"Location, beach and greenery."
Danks Street in Albert Park is a very wide street with great greenery. Some nice townhouses closer to Port Melbourne, but as you move towards middle park, the houses do get worse and worse, and graffiti starts to kick in. Don't get me wrong, Danks St is very nice with fantastic location, especially being so close to the beach and access to public transport. You also are right on Victoria Avenue, which has great cafe's and more.

"Great location close to schools, public transport, beach, sporting facilities, parks, and Albert Park village"
Arguably the best street in Albert Park in terms of a balance between access to beach, low traffic, proximity to sporting facilities (Melbourne Sports & Aquatic Centre), tram and light rail options, great primary schools and a 15 minute walk to Albert Park lake and 30 second walk to the beach and its cafes and walking and cycling paths.

Danks Street in Albert Park is the location where Beryl Palmer's House in the '80s Aussie Soap "SONS AND DAUGHTERS." The Grundy Organisation used the house next to the Mary Kehoe Centre for external shots and the later in the series, the Mary Kehoe Centre its self was also used as an external location when the O'Brien family moved in next-door to Beryl.
A juxtaposition is that in "SONS AND DAUGHTERS," Albert Park was portrayed as a very 'blue collar," working class suburb. In just generation, would one think it has become rather upmarket and trendy? Beach & cafes... one can't go wrong !
