Will there ever be a train line running through or close to Doncaster?
Doncaster, VIC 3108 is located within the Manningham local government area, part of the Melbourne (Greater) Region in Victoria.
I feel like it's been mentioned before but no real commitment has been made towards one. I'm only new to the area and having no train is so strange.

There has been a station announced at Shoppo as part of the Suburban Rail Loop (linked to Box Hill and Heidelberg) but the (current) Federal Government isn't interested in helping out with funding - it's an expensive project (should have been done *decades* ago).

It is coming if the current govt stays in and work for planning has begun. Matt Guy is planning to scrap it though, so consider it a no go.
