Eltham vs Eltham North... Termites?

Eltham, VIC 3095 is located within the Nillumbik local government area, part of the Melbourne (Greater) Region in Victoria.

Hi. We will be moving to Eltham in a few months. Just wanted to find out what the difference is (in terms of perception, access, property prices, infrastructure etc) between Eltham and Eltham North. Also, are there lots of termite/borer problems in that area? Thanks in advance.

Hi,

Eltham, know matter where you look it will have a higher purchase price. It's an amasing suburb. My brother lived there for years with his family. Shopping strips and food is excellent.

To answer the termite issue, Eltham just like any other suburb could have a termite problem, but the best thing to do would be to have a pest control inspection.

There are small pockets across both Eltham and Eltham north that tend to have a higher price tag than the average family home. Access is something to consider as Eltham central is serviced by Main Road which can get congested during peak times whereas Eltham north can be exited or accessed via Greensborough, St Helena and ring road side of Eltham. Eltham central has benefits of living close (walk distance) to shopping village and variety of schools. Termites can be found in properties throughout the area however this is not localised to Eltham, homes further into the city also can have this problem, would strongly suggest a pest inspection prior to purchasing. Great suburb - hope this helps!
