Where to buy and where to avoid?

Hi all,
We are looking to move to the peninsula, and while priced out of Mornington, are now looking at Frankston South or certain parts of Frankston. I was after any information on any areas to avoid? I know a lot of people still have issue with Frankston, but have read it had improved a lot and some pockets are just lovely. We are a young family, so looking for somewhere safe where our kids can grow up.

Avoid Frankston North and Carrum Downs if you can help it.

Maybe find an estate in Karingal or Langwarrin or go with Frankston South if you can afford it.

I bought a unit in Frankston South around the Screen Street area just off Heatherhill Road. I was lucky enough to purchase during Covid when things were cheaper. But I also love the Moorooduc Highway area of Frankston South. I used to live in Karingal prior to that but you need to pick your street carefully there. Frankston East/Baxter area is good. Again around Whistlestop Estate you want to choose your street carefully. Olivers Hill and Gould Street are the more prestigious areas.
