Good public primary schools northern gold coast - advice please?

Hi,
I am just about to relocate from Coffs Harbour to the Northern End of the Gold Coast to work at Griffith Uni in Feb 2016.
My son will be in Year 2. He currently goes to a small very good school with 190 kids and we live next to a National Park in a tiny beach suburb which is quiet and suburban. Prior to Coffs, I lived in Noosa for 10 years.

I have been researching schools and suburbs but need more help please. I would prefer to live somewhere quiet and also safe away from parties, nightlife, crime and crowds. My son needs a good engaged school that is not huge where he would get lost in the system, as he is shy and bilingual. We are European. I have looked at Biggera Waters/ Coombambah/ Ashmore/ Benowa/ Pacific Pines and Mudgeeraba schools. Can someone give me any information (positive and negative) on the above areas and schools?

Any advice/information whatsoever will be gratefully received.
