moving to Gold Coast and was wondering about Mosquitos/Midges around Runaway Bay and Sorrento

Hi everyone, we are heading to the Gold Coast this weekend to look at properties around Sorrento and Runaway Bay on the water. I have been advised that the mosquitos/midges are bad around Runaway Bay. Is this correct? Any help would be appreciated.
