Perth young family to relocate to sunny qld

Hi, my hubby and i are looking at relocating from perth to qld in approx a year with our 1 year old and dog for a change of scenery. We are looking for somewhere thats near the coast as we love the beach and would like to be somewhere between brisbane and goldcoast to get the best of both worlds. We found living in perth really expensive if you want to be near the coast so somewhere that is reasonably priced is a must for us as we are a 1 person working family at the moment. We would like somewhere safe and away from the hussle and bussle but still close to cafes, markets, restaurants etc. My hubby will be looking for work in probably construction so hopefully the travel wont be too long for him. We are looking at renting for the moment. Ive heard the sunshine coast is good but ive never been there. Thanks
