Does anyone have information in regards to the flooding in hope island suburbs?
i am from perth looking to move to hope island queensland, saw some beautiful houses in hope island however, I was told by a friend of mine it's a high flood prone area due to some many access to creeks and river. I don't know how true this information is however if anyone out there who has lived or living in hope island would have any ideas or aswers in regards to the flood would love to hear it !!!

Don't worry too much, build up land and modern drainage, a few risks I guess but it's a waterside area so what can you do? Lived here 10 years never known the inside of a home has flooded!

Sorry to contradict... As Ruth Fea answered, above, DO BE CAREFUL !! In the twenty years that I have been on Hope Island, I can recall half a dozen times where houses have been swamped. Just this year, there have been three house that I know of that have been under 30 cms of dirty water ... One of those houses has changed hands twice in as many years due to this issue. Check the council information and ask questions (Don't trust the Real Estate Agents..... They are happy to sell you a house, then ask you if you want to re-sell after a flooding). Good Luck.... Hope Island is a great place place to live. Avoid Sanctuary Cove and you wont be disappointed!
