"I love living here"

Nowhere else in bickley can you get a feeling of olde worlde charm combined with mod cons like fibre optic Internet (super fast!) and vibrant cafes. I will never live anywhere else now!

Hummerston has lost its edge now that the NBN is much more widespread. Now my mate in Bahen Rd has faster Internet than I do. Not fair!

julians2

Is it that there are any French cafs in the road Hummerston?

"Doesnt feel like a thoroughfare"

The traffic is terrible but it doesn't feel like it. This wide, flat boulevard oozes cosmopolitan charm. Love living here!

Great for

  • Great for a gentle stroll after a meal
  • Well lit and very pleasant in the evenings

Not great for

  • Rollerbladers in weekends are a little bothersome

Do you actually know what you're talking about? Roads in Perth are not classified as a thoroughfare unless they have an average number of daily vehicle movements greater than 25,000. Bummers ton wouldn't be even half that!

Wise_sam

Bummers ton is still pretty busy. Try crossing it in peak hour!

Hummerston is still pretty busy! Worse in the morning than the evening, weird but that's the way it is.

My rollerblading club goes down Hummerston most weekends (its not far from our meeting point so we kinda' have no choice), but we've never had a problem with traffic. Cars seem to avoid us. :)

Beverdee9

Where is the meeting point? My boyf and me would like to join cuz we're sick of blading by ourselves..

Carpark opposite the Dome cafe near croxton rd. we meet Saturdays at 9am, come join us! All welcome.

"A little piece of paradise"

Just a 1 minute drive from the Kalamunda town centre is this little piece of paradise. Hummerston Road runs from Mundaring Weir Road down to the bottom of the valley where Piesse Brook positively gushes during the winter. Large blocks means that only a few people get to claim to live in Piesse Brook, meaning that most people have never heard of the suburb. And we preferred it stays that way! Despite the large blocks, this is a really tight knit community with an increasing number of young families moving into the area.

Large blocks?? Perhaps you live at the rich end of Hummerston. (Do you own a pair of rollerblades, by any chance?)

Probably one of those dudes in the mansions at the northern end. They often go rollerblading past my place. The council should do something about it, it's quite hazardous walking to the cafe on the weekend.
