"Quaint Village Style Shopping Strip"

Maling Road is home to the Cafe Latte set in downtown Canterbury. A mix of old world antique shops and fashions for the over 40's, Maling Road is a great place for a quiet relaxing coffee break but not so great for real world shopping. Your better off to go to Burke Road in Camberwell for this. Can be a traffic nightmare at times with room for only one car once both sides of the road are full with parked cars. Would I live there? Yes, if I were retired.

There is plenty of parking around the back of the shops near wattle valley road and near Bryson St.Yes the street is very busy but there is plenty of parking at rear of shops.

"fashions for the over 40's" might be a bit harsh. A lot of people I know in their early to mid thirties shop on Maling Road, and look great.

My daughters are in their 20's and both have bought clothes within Maling Road shopping precinct. It's true about the narrow road, some drivers have difficulty with judging distance between cars, which makes it frustrating waiting for them to move on. Always a nice place for an informal lunch, with plenty of eateries to choose from. Classic Fruits (near ped. crossing) has excellent quaIity fruit, veg and specialities, with friendly service. I love the atmosphere of Mailing Road, Canterbury.
