What's it like near the train station along Whatley?

I am looking at a unit in that big white block of apartments/flats just down near the green bridge. That building doesn't look that great but the unit I'm looking at has been renovated and is really quite nice inside but just unsure about the area. I will be getting back late from the city most nights(10-11pm), would it be safe enough to walk down Whatley a bit from the train station? Thanks!
