Any nice areas to live within commuting distance of Melton? Near coast or central young area.

Hi, I'm relocating to Melbourne mid Jan. I'm 28 yo and my job is going to be in Melton. I'd prefer to stay to far out from the Centre but equally want somewhere that can be easily accessible by car to Melton. (I've heard that driving to Melton is a must due to limited public transport links) Can anyone recommend an area that would be good for that commute but still not too far from the coast? Thank you
