Best place for students to live in Melbourne?
Melbourne (CBD), VIC 3000 is located within the Melbourne local government area, part of the Melbourne (Greater) Region in Victoria.
We are wondering which is the best suburb in melbourne for students to live, preferably somewhere safe, and close to public transport. Appreciate the answers. :)

All inner suburbs are okay in Melbourne. Depending on where you are studying, you may also find accommodation in the outer suburbs where some institutions are located. The inner city is great for students, including the Melbourne CBD, Southbank, Docklands, Carlton, Richmond and outer suburbs near some institutions include, Boxhill, Footscray, Hawthorn and Northcote.

There are tons of options in and around the city. There is plenty of student housing (studio apartments) in the city up around RMIT. Carlton would be nice around Melbourne University. Collingwood, Brunswick - depends where you are studying of course.
