Gloria Jeans in Melbourne Central - avoid!

Last weekend I came across what I think is the worst coffee place in all of Melbourne.

It is a Gloria Jeans located at the back of Borders Books at Melbourne Central.

First the service - there was a line (which is fine) but then I discovered why, the cashier and the two coffee boys (all 17 year old students), were deep in discussion about their exploits the night before. You could sense the frustration in the queue.

After taking my name, I ordered two coffees and a sausage roll.

First - after waiting 10 minutes, the coffees were placed on the bench, without announcing my name. (So it sat there for a while).
Then - five minutes later, my sausage roll came out. Cold in the middle.
And last, the coffee was so burnt, that we had to throw it out.

I know I should have demanded a refund - but couldnt wait another 10 minutes.

I think Border's Books should keep an eye on their in house coffee provider.

Hi melbournefan, it's a shame you had such a bad coffee, but to be honest, when have you ever had a good coffee from Gloria Jeans???

I suggest never going to a "brand name" coffee place. They are all mass produced crap.

Worst case, if I'm busting for a coffee and had to choose one it would be Starbucks.
