SEAFOOD SEAFOOD SEAFOOD...Where can I get good seafood?!?!?

So I'm a huge seafood fan and I can't find anywhere in Melbourne that even comes close to the quality of seafood in Queensland! I love crab and lobster...yes the expensive stuff.

Can anyone recommend a fantastic seafood restaurant in Melbourne? Preferably the CBD or eastern areas.

Hey AJ

I recommend Watergrill in Toorak. The have outstanding seafood and even do takeaway in the entrance. It's on Toorak Rd about 100 meters down from Chapel Street.

There's also Waterfront at Crown Casino. They have huge lobsters you buy per kilo. Pricey like all restaurants at Crown. Donovans in St Kilda is also well known for seafood.

For great seafood I recommend heading to The Rocks in Mornington. It has a nice atmosphere overlooking the marina. I had the best seafood paella & the seafood spaghetti is delish too!

If you like lobster you have to try the mouthwatering New England lobster roll at Supernormal on Exhibition St. They also have great fresh oysters, flathead and whiting.

For a more casual vibe head to Miss Katie’s Crab Shack in Fitzroy where you'll sup on southern style crab, clams, mussels and crab cakes. Plus they have $2 oysters on weekdays 3-6pm!!

Rockpool Bar and Grill at Crown is a must-try for seafood lovers. They have everything seafood related from caviar, raw fish to oysters. Do your tastebuds a favour and get the king prawn pasta or the spanner crab noodles for the main.

Ooh yes I second Miss Katies Crab Shack. My partner isn't super seafoody so rarely do we get to go somewhere together for seafood dining, but we went and I got my fix and he was still sorted too. He ordered the fried chicken waffles with maple syrup. So there were options for the non-seafoody type. So good. It's kind of a novelty niche place which is what got my attention. But despite being of novelty appearance, it wasn't tacky. The food was high quality, fresh and great. Loved it.

I recently had an amazing seafood platter at The Middle Brighton Baths Upstairs, which included 3 tiers of oysters, smoked salmon, octopus, scallops, prawns, smoked mussels, pippies & clams. YUMMO!

Richmond Oysters is our favourite seafood resturant. We love the share platters amongst a group of friends! Also recommend the Yellow Fin cocktail
