Waste dumps and tips around Melbourne?

Years ago when we needed to dump lots of household rubbish we went to a rubbish tip in Donvale. It became a housing development years ago.

Does anybody know if tips still exist in Melbourne? Need one soon.

Thanks

I recently used a landfill/tip at Rye for those on the Mornington Peninsula. It's on Truemans Road. You can dump truckloads of waste there.

It can be annoying when you only have a small amount of items to dispose. Recently I needed to dispose of a mattress sometimes the business you purchased the new mattress from will take the old one away, if not it can create a problem. I discovered this service dedicated to mattress and bed removal, a great option if you only have a bed to dispose and you don't own a car and trailer.
