I can’t speak for Hoppers crossing area but Deer Park is a good area, especially around Cairnlea and Burnside. I’ve grown up in the area, my parents are there, and I’m renting there and currently looking to buy as well. The $$ have been better than they were 6 months ago.

There are a few shopping centres, with the main big one about 10 mins from Deer park – Watergardens shopping centre. However Brimbank central in Deer Park has everything you need in a local shopping centre.

They have just updated Deer Park Station as well, however this still runs on the V-line. They are lobbying to get the lines electrified, and when (if) that happens it will increase the house prices all around – so also a good area to invest as well.
