"Don't bother crime rate high 3/4 of a mill for tiny house with narrow roads jam packed!"

this used to be lovely now full of ghetto housing estates like caravan parks! Roads too narrow & the residents here park on the road and get fined if parked on the verge so fire trucks/ambos and bin man can't get through! So much crime now with the ghettos here and the new estates. you only have to drive down the streets to see all the security cameras up and get on the local community pages to read the crime rate! police always in Little Mountain now! Over priced packed out!

I am interested in moving to Kawana Forest Estate and wondered if it is a safe and friendly area suitable for families? I am aware that the surrounding forest is low lying, and also wondered if homes were affected by the recent flood event? Others have posted that the whole area of Meridan Plains was flooded, but from what I have read most homes in Kawana Forest Estate sit 6m above sea level.

"a little slice of heaven!"

i saw my house in august 2014 and bought it immediately....i just got very lucky. i love the area as it is so quiet and not densely populated. i plan to see my days out here, although hopefully not for at least, 2 more decades +. i thank God every morning for this lovely place and my lovely home! there are 2 of us and my children stay over very 3 weeks. the beautiful beaches are not far and some even have shade, plus you have the choice of 2 50mtr swimming pools....first thing i looked up as i swim for exercise!

Great for

  • Excellent Private College in the Estate
  • In the precinct of a popular reputable State School
  • Well maintained parks, bbq's, walks.

Not great for

  • Public transport is woeful within the caloundra area

Dont' move here its packed Jam packed over priced crime rate high you only have to look on the local community pages and take a drive down all the streets here to see all the security cameras up! police always here as ghetto housing estates brought the crime element now!! Sad!! it used to be lovely! the pool she is talking about is the aged care place opposite meridan state college!! the school is the worst with massive bullying in the higher school!! this woman is a retiree!! thats why she is not a young family! and for retirees its now way too expensive!

"BEAUTIFUL, QUIET, PICTURESQUE"

I just want to say how delighted I have been with my choice to settle in Kawana Forest when we emigrated 4 years ago. We picked this suburb because it was handy to Pacific Lutheran School, where we wanted our boys to attend. The rainforest here is just beautiful, and tracks and cycle paths are easily accessible, including an easy walk to the reservoir and Green Belt countryside.
Its a safe place to live, and now the Kawana Way is complete, it is easily accessible to the Bruce and Sunshine Motorway.
What I also love about this estate is that unlike many other suburbs, there will only be 400+ houses here and will not be extended. I get lost when I drive to other sprawling suburbs, where all the streets look the same!
There is a nice mix here, including retired couples, professional couples, and of course families, which makes for a nice environment and hats off to the residents who run the Residents Association which includes regular get togethers and providers of information.
You cant go far wrong with picking Kawana Forest as a place to live!

"Scribbly Gum - what a gem of a street !!"

Quandong Street is great, but Scribbly Gum Drive is just awesome. Sure if you want to slum it, go to Quandong Street. If you want to live in Kawana Forrest Heights, then go to Scribbly Gum Drive. It can't be beat.
