Narraweena, NSW 2099

Hi Guys,

After living in Manly for 4 years we bought a house in Narraweena over a year ago now as a place to bring up our family and have never looked back! It is safe, spacious, leafy and has a great community feeling. There are a number of different parks for kids dotted around and Beverly job park is a hive for community sport ,particularly the tennis courts!

We have a relatively small high street but it has all the essentials - cafe, super market, grocer , post office, bottleshop, fish and chips etc and even a deli that people travel from around northern beaches to come to! I expect this will grow quite a bit over time as well.

And lets not forget you are less than 5-10 mins in either direction to Deewhy or Warringah Mall if you need anything else, and you can even walk down into Dee Why and hit the beach.

Transport - Coming from Manly this was going to be my biggest concern as I work in the city and its hard to replace the ferry with a bus, but I am actually pleasantly surprised! There are a number of different express buses than pass through Narraweena directly into Wynyard, it takes about an hour although on a bad day can be more! but with the B-line improvements coming this should improve, and even more so if the tunnel comes which will apparently shave 40 mins Journey time! Atleast being in Narraweena though there is always a seat on the bus unlike some of the other NB suburbs!

Also the 136 runs constantly between Chatswood and Manly so always convenient to get to the beach.

Schools - Something I cant comment on too much but we have a child on the way so I will be doing my research! there is quite a few different schools in Narraweena of which it seems the Narraweena public is the biggest, and from talking to Neighbors with the change of demographic in the area that the results of the school are improving significantly and it rates well on the Sydney average

Growth? Narraweena is one of the cheaper suburbs to buy on Northern beaches but its not staying that way, prices are still rocketing and with all the development around you can see why. Every other house is being renovated, Dee why is only a short walk and is going through a transformation, Warringah Mall is on our doorstep and just been through refurb and on top of that the new Northern Beaches Hospital is being built only 10 mins up the road (bringing 1300 jobs).

Downsides? Nothing we have found so far that's not expected, eating out and cafes are pretty much non existent but then with Dee Why is only a walk or short bus ride away and as demand grows I am sure we will see more cafes come.

There is a good chance if you are reading this you are looking to buy or rent in Narraweena, well if so I highly recommend it if you are looking for somewhere to which is quiet, leafy, spacious and is becoming better by the day, especially if you are raising a family like we are as the space, location and value for money in Narraweena in our view is some of the best on the Northern beaches!

I love the fact that I can walk down to the Dee Why beach after work during the summer and just watch the rolling waves from the ocean. The Strand down at the Beach has been transformed into great place to eat out in the summer evenings. And in winter days, hanging out at the cafes is great ! There is great neighourly spirit and people are very down to earth. Housing is still affordable considering that it is only 10 minutes from Manly !

There are some lovely spots in Narraweena and it improves each year. Situated on the eastern side of Beacon Hill means the suburb has views in most directions of the ocean, narrabeen lake or even to the city.

Leafy surroundings and great proximity to all the northern beaches has to offer, ride a bike or run to Dee Why beach or drive up the coast choosing from Manly to Palmy.

For retail or eating out, drive to the Warringah Mall shops or Dee Why beach restaurants within 5 mins drive.

Nice small primary schools and amazing public transport to the city with buses to the city every 10 mins during the peak times.
