The corner of Burnley St and Victoria St is a death trap.

We work in the office building on the corner and have seen over 20 serious crashes over the past three years. There is clearly a problem with the traffic lights or the lack of visibility as cars try and run the orange lights. Why hasnt the council done something?

I have no idea, maybe we should look at getting some council representatives on board to look at these forums!

The problem is because the "super stop" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trams_in_Melbourne) blocks the view from city bound traffic that is below the intersections height .. hiding any cars from view, who are trying to turn. No excuses IMO - drivers need to be more careful. I'm looking forward to the day when someone gets really hurt :(

You ARE looking forward to someone getting hurt? Or did you just leave out the "not"?

There are already too many idiots on the road these days anyway, while I don't wish any ill harm on people, I do hope that if they can't drive properly, then something happens to their car at least so that they are off the road for teh safety of others!
