"good but not great"

It is a safe family friendly suburb. Prices are on the higher side and i don't belie it is great value for money. A lot of older homes in need of renovating in this suburb.

"The best waterfront suburb in Gold Coast!"

While living your peaceful family life, feels like far from the busy buzzy city life, but still just minutes to walk to the beach, and a short drive to the mid city.

"Young couple miss this place!"

We moved from Runaway Bay two years ago to Coomera and cannot wait to come back. The Runaway Bay shopping centre has the essentials except a Kmart but it's only a short drive to Helensvale shopping centre. The suburb is a short distance to the Broadwater and to city. Only con is it is quite expensive to live there, especially if you're just in an apartment but that doesn't deter us, we'll definitely be going back in the new year.

"Best waterfront living on the Gold Coast"

Moved from Sydney to Runaway Bay and it's been the best decision my wife and I have ever done.
It's got everything you need at your door steep, short cruise down the canal to the Broadwater. You can even tie up on the Runway Bay shopping centres public jetty and duck in for all the essential snacks and drinks you need as you make your way out to the Broadwater for the day.
Great neighbours and clean suburb, no really graffiti or undesirables around.
It is very evident to see that the demographic has been retires however over the past few years it has been changing as the baby boomers move to nursing homes or down size it has made way for a young generation to move in and renovate which is set to support the capital growth in the area.

"A truly rewarding and relaxing lifestyle"

Consisting of mainly canal estates and benefits from nearby marinas and shopping centres, you need not go any further than Runaway Bay. The resident's canals offer exclusive waterfront homes for those who enjoy boating on the Broadwater.

Residents also enjoy the Sports Super Centre, covering a large range of sporting activities for the public or elite athletes. The shopping centre caters to all as well as being very close to Harbour Town in the neighbouring Biggera Waters.

You could not ask for too much more. You will have a truly rewarding and relaxing lifestyle in Runaway Bay.

"Great canal development and close to Harbour Town Shopping"

Runaway Bay, located at the northern end of the Gold Coast, was the original hub of residential activity in the northern Gold Coast region.

The suburb is based around some of the best canal development on the Gold Coast and is one of the few areas to boast bridge-free access to the fabulous Broadwater.

Only minutes by boat to the Gold Coast seaway, the area’s excellent boating facilities include a number of public boat ramps in addition to its own wet and dry storage marina.

The area has a great diversity of real estate catering to the first home buyer through to the million dollar investor, with product ranging from duplexes and villas through to high-rise apartments and large canal front homes.

The trend in recent times in both dry and direct access waterfront areas has been the purchase and demolition of the older style homes to be replaced by modern homes making the most of the coastal lifestyle. With vacant land in the area all but gone, it is not surprising that the few blocks remaining are selling at a premium.

First class shopping and educational facilities in the area are attracting families from around Queensland and interstate. Harbour Town’s 130 stores are appealing to the budget conscious while Oxley Drive is developing a reputation as an Al Fresco dining precinct with a number of quality restaurants.

"Great feeling among neighbours, high percentage of owner-occupiers near excellent variety of shops."

Suburb has it's own well established shopping center with parking and canal/boat access. The shopping center has Woolies, Coles, Big W, Target and a lot of other stores typical of an average size shopping center. There is a noticeable absence of troublesome juveniles.

A short drive away has access to factory outlet stores and just about any type of eating establishment you would want. 3 dog-off-leash parks are within walking distance.

For commuters, Morala Ave is parallel to the main arterials and access is easy to the M1 highway about 50 min from Brisbane during light to medium traffic. Public transport consists of a bus station at the shopping center.
