Reviews of San Remo, VIC

"Not like it used to be"

Lived here for 16 years, not like it used to be, sleepy village has turned into a suburb of Melbourne, but with beaches. Too many housing estates pushing out wildlife is sad, and it has got too busy with different people and way too many dogs leaving their mark. I love the old local people who are left but many leaving now, being priced out. If you are a renter forget it, way too hard to find anything affordable now. Council needs to stop anymore development, proabably too late now we have all these huge houses being built on the hills and pushing out the kangaroos, sight for sore eyes now. Great place to visit though you might find the infrastructure limited and only one way in and one way out creates traffic jams in busy times.

I moved to Cape Woolamai, the house I lived in got sold and I could not stay on, sadly after all these years I could not find anything affordable to rent in San Remo.

Looking for a home in San Remo?

"Best views of Phillip Island and a great place to raise a family."

San Remo: I still remember 25 years ago, when there wasn't much more than a few milk bars, the pubs and the best fish and chips going around. We'd stop on the way home in the Ford XY and grab garlic prawns and Flake for around $5 after a day spent at the beach. San Remo is still the gateway to Phillip Island, yet there is something much bigger happening here? Have you noticed?

I have and I wonder how many of you are also curious about what this means to Real Estate in the area? I've had a few people ask me the same thing, will all the building affect housing prices?

To be honest, initially maybe we will see fluctuations, however we need to be focusing on the bigger picture. San Remo has some of the best views in South East Victoria with all the easy access of the freeway and getting up town. There are many families and Melbournites buying up property here to capitalise on later... A great place to raise a family.

Reach out for a chat and I will share some ideas with you.

I love San Remo, for multiple reasons and I still get that ahhhh feeling as I drive back from Melbourne and get my first glimpses coming over the hill.

"Stunning San Remo in favourable beachside position"

Beautiful suburb with popular shopping strip, lovely trees and water views. Very spacious suburb. Great restaurants including Saltwater Phillip Island. San Remo boasts refined parks, gorgeous pine trees and a popular pier. The Phillip Island Habour Bridge also is an incredible view at night when lit up.

Rentals in San Remo

"Unique water views and friendly town"

San Remo is the gateway to Phillip Island. It is a beautiful fishing village that consists of long-standing locals and those who have relocated from Melbourne (generally speaking, relatively affluent 50+'s). Many of the blocks in San Remo have stunning bay or ocean views. San Remo also becomes very busy in the Summer Months, during events or long weekends - which is good for local businesses. I believe the Bass Coast is about 5-10 years behind the Morning Peninsula and is a much cheaper alternative until it catches up.
