Close enough to the city of Melbourne (Major Hospitals and University) if you need it. Far enough away to avoid the hustle and bustle. Charming mix of older homes with gorgeous gardens (Creswell and Elstone Avenues) and gentrified units/renovations. Good shopping at Essendon Fields, Westfield and Niddrie Shopping Centre. Great suburb for walks and public transport (trams and buses). Good cultural mix of friendly people.

I have visited Airport West multiple times over the years, and have always found the community to be extremely friendly and lovely. There are great shops in the area, including amazing take away shops!
The access to local busses and trams is also very convenient, also not a far travel into the city!

Most amazing neighbourhood to live in, friendly neighbours, beautiful coffee shops like Cafe 53 and Roasting Warehouse! Very safe and friendly. Quick access to freeways, Westfield, DFO and airport access in less than 10 mins. And to top this, a 15 min access to the city, doesnt get sweeter!!

We rented at Airport West after reading the reviews on this website, but after a few months it turned out to be the worst suburb we've lived in Australia. Hoons, stabbing, armed robbery, what have you. We deeply regret our decision. We clearly understand now why Eastern suburbs are more expensive. It's not just because they are more developed, it's because they are safe.

Easy access to freeways and 10 minutes from the city. Great people and plenty of shopping

Airport West is a wonderful suburb to live. It's close to the city. has lots of restaurants, parks and is close to public transport. There are a lot of units getting built making it very easy living.

Close to everything Airport West caters for all ages from the new units and townhouses to the family homes close to Sporting clubs, Primary schools,Secondary school,Airport West Real Estate ,child care centres,westfield shopping centre,Essendon fields,Mcnamara ave shops,tram,buss,easy access to the freeway and a quick drive to the city and Airports,great parklands and ovals and most importantly friendly people.

A great suburb - on the up. House prices have doubled in 8 years. Family friendly - excellent shopping, schools and sporting clubs - WESTSAINTS and EAGLES! Happy to be part of a great community and we don't need Essendon, Moonee Ponds or Niddrie to make our house prices increase or suburb better. No name change required. Council should take more notice.

Airport West is a good central suburb with excelent freeway accses. It has many parks, schools and shops, with Keilor rd only hop skip and jump away.

It's only draw back is the industrial side of the suburb further up towards Westfield.
All in all, a great suburb and worth it's sharp price rise of late.
