Reviews of Ardeer, VIC
"Fine."
Ardeer is okay. It is true that there are a lot of families and young couples living here but the drug activity is RIFE. Expect discarded syringes and bumping into some rough people. It’s sad because the area has a lot of potential. It close to the city. I’ve been renting but I’m not hanging around here anymore.
"Great leafy family suburb with easy commute to city"
We moved to Ardeer from the inner-west 2 years ago and havn't looked back. Its leafy, friendly and a good place for families and young professionals alike. I love walking and riding along the creek. Living in Ardeer has only added 10 minutes to my commute as the train line is really good (I use Albion station). Being easy access to the Ring rd is also very convenient to drive to the city, beach and airport.

My family lived there from 1953 to 2014.
I loved living there as a kid. It used to have 5 milk bars a petrol station a post office butcher 2 fruit shops hardware and hairdresser.
Lots of good people there especially of Maltese and european decent which made me respect all nationalities when growing up.
It was our home and will remain my home town in my heart forever.
"up and coming"
with the prices on the west set to rise, which can already be seen in the price hike of sunshine, ardeer is set to prosper

"Location and proximity to freeways, CBD"
Ardeer is an older suburb in Melbournes western suburbs - bordered by Deer Park to the west, Sunshine North to the north, Sunshine West and Albion to the east. Only 16km to the CBD of Melbourne and within walking distance to the Ardeer train station (V/Line) or a 15 minute brisk walk to Albion (Zone1). Great walking tracks along Kororoit Creek and close to all that you need. Major shopping centres surround - Highpoint 7km away and Westfield Airport West only 10 minutes down the Western Ring Road. The majority of residents are long term residents meaning it is a somewhat quiet neighbourhood. Property prices are on the increase - meaning younger professional people are buying into Ardeer due to affordability and proximity to the CBD. We moved to Ardeer seeking space... Close to Ballarat Rd, Western Ring Road, Train stations both regional and metro. Ardeer is the next BOOM area of Melbournes middle ring belt being 16km to the CBD.
Great for
- Large house blocks
- Proximity to CBD
- Quiet area
Not great for
- Be good to have a few cafes around the place
- Older homes making way to developers!

"Ardeer a great place to live and play."
With so many routes into the city you are a stone throw away from the C.B.D without the expense of the eastern suburbs. Shopping you have so many choices Deer Park , Sunshine , Ardeer and now new IGA on Fitzgerald rd. Food you can always get a bargin in sunshine . With a lovely creek to walk along and enjoy the wild life. Night life is 15 mins away by car. There are sports fields , schools and easy transport links.
Travel to the C.B.D takes 20 minutes in the morning . There is Victoria university in Sunshine and in St Albans. One can always take a dip at Sunshine pool in the hot summer evenings. Bicycles tracks and dirt bike tracks everywhere.
For the travelers the airport is only 15 minutes away and only a $35 cab trip away.
