Reviews of Bulleen, VIC
"Clean and Safe"
It’s just a great suburb in general! It was a privilege for me to live here for 2 years before I had to move to the West because of the rent prices…The streets always are cleaned and there are no crime problems (many residents are settled seniors).

"Love it!"
My hubby of 30 years and I purchased an Italian style home here 2 years ago and so far, I love it way more than Doncaster! I have recently felt like Manningham has increased in crime due to menace youth disrupting innocent people. But, in bulleen I sense this is not the same, because bulleen is filled with friendly seniors who only care about their garden haha, and new families also bring a lot of money here. I feel bulleen will skyrocket in property prices once the northeast highway is built.

"Friendly and Welcoming but lots of development"
I have lived in Bulleen for 12 years and it has been always great, safe, welcoming but it is starting to get busy because a lot of wealthy families build their homes here, in my street alone there are at least 4 construction sites.

"Our experience of Bulleen (Manningham Road) has been terrible : ("
We are a family of 4 living on Manningham road in Bullen and although I hate to give a 1 star review our experience of this suburb has been really bad. We previously lived in Northcote for 2 years, then spent 2 years living in Kew East, and 5 years living in Balwyn before moving to Bulleen in 2019. Our experience of Bulleen compared to these other suburbs is not good to say the least. Just a few examples, where we live on Manningham road there are small gangs on teenagers roaming about who have repeatedly graffitied ('tagged') our front fence. We then have to paint over it, but the graffiti then appears again within a week. Around 10pm-1am you often get cars speeding down Manningham road honking horns and shouting. When I go jogging at the weekend about 1 in 4 times I get shouted at out of the car window from some hoon coming down the main road (even though I am just going about my business). I catch the bus to/from work from Heidelberg station, the school kids on the bus are *horrible* discussing buying drugs and other things which I will not post here. I used to catch the bus with the school kids in Balwyn every day for 5 years of about the same age and though they were not angels there was nothing like this. In addition, we take pride in our house, but rubbish is continually thrown in our front garden and on our nature strip, I am out picking it up every weekend. Finally, the estate agents in this area are absolute sharks; we bought our house from Barry Plant Manningham (Mark Di Giulio) and they fabricated information both on the advert and in person at the auction. They then refused to talk to us about their error (which has reduced the price of the property significantly) and have forced us into expensive legal action against them. Whilst other areas of Bulleen may be much nicer than Manningham road; I believe (from what I have seen) that Thompson's road may be similar. If you do read this review and are set on moving to Bulleen, stay well clear of the two main roads, the crime statistics don't necessarily show all of the low-level criminal activity, but these are really not nice places to live (not to mention there is development happening everywhere). Moving to Bulleen has been the worst descision ever, luckily we have just managed to sell (for a loss) and get out of this suburb...
"REPUTABLE AND CONVENIENT"
Bulleen is a quiet, safe and convenient suburb bordered by the serene Yarra River. It has lovely parklands and reserves as well as restaurants and offers a great deal of entertainment. The Heide Museum of Modern Art is a sculpture Park that attracts tourists from all over the country. It is well respected for its display of contemporary exhibitions and gallery spaces adorned by Australia's most well-known and highly esteemed artists. Other popular parks and reserves are Bulleen Park, Banksia Park and Sheahans Park, which are perfect for cyclists, walkers, joggers or anyone seeking a breath of fresh air. It is also perfect for picnicking as they offer barbeques, picnic tables and shelters. Apart from being surrounded by good government schools, it is within the catchment area of some of the popular private schools in Kew, such as Trinity Grammar and Sacred Heart. With great neighoubring suburbs like Doncaster, Templestowe Lower and North Balwyn, you will find a variety of medical centres and the Austin hospital only minutes’ drive. This along with being only 12km from Melbourne's CBD, makes Bulleen centrally located and a great choice to live in.
For a standard 2-bedroom unit, you can expect to pay approx. $400 per week in rent.

"A good old fashioned suburb"
As the saying goes 'location location' goes this is the one suburb you want to live in. Close to shopping centres, schools, parks, 15 minutes to the Melbourne CBD, 7 minutes to the Austin and Mercy Hospitals and Warringal private hospital.

"Quiet and out of the way"
Pretty safe, houses have big backyards, not much around; go to Doncaster, or further North for shopping centres/bars/restaurants.
Public transport into cbd consists of making your way to a bus stop to get to Heidelberg station.
Manningham road can get very hectic and quite a bit of hoon driving throughout weekend nights

"The Best suburb"
I have lived in Bulleen for 35 years and have never been disappointed, when I first bought a fairly large property here, I bought very cheap. However, now that property is worth well over 5 million. Even if you are new to this suburb it is great investment, the annual growth rate is 5-10 percent pretty sure. I have never seen any Crime in this suburb and doubt I ever will. Right now, the big powerful developers are investing millions in Bulleen so I suggest to buy here before price doubles or triples. Bulleen will become the new Balwyn.
"Safe, Family friendly"
Way better than surrounding suburbs like Doncaster, Templestowe. Is family friendly. Because of how good the suburb is the prices are a bit on the expensive side for middle class families

"Safe and conveniently located suburb"
Located amongst some other great suburbs including Balwyn North, Ivanhoe, Templestowe and Doncaster. It is a safe and conveniently located place to live, with lots of shopping and eating options closeby. Close to some good schools including some Private Kew schools sports grounds. Highly recommended for couples, families and professionals that want a safe and peaceful area, that's not far from the city.

"Peace and Quiet - The Unknown Suburb"
I am still quite surprised that not many people know about Bulleen, even though it is no more than 15 mins from the city. Great place to live and you fell safe inside and outside your house. there are many parks in Bulleen and Yarra River is also included in its area. The only con i can think of are the schools in the area, which are not very well known and do not perform greatly

There is a Catholic primary school, a special education school and a Catholic boys secondary school, public transport is frequent for children to travel to schools in surrounding suburbs.
"High potential"
Bulleen is the most under-valued eastern suburb for its proximity to the Melbourne CBD. Neighbouring Balwyn North and close to Eastern freeway, drive from Bulleen into the city is only 15mins. Bulleen is quiet and has a friendly neighbourhood. There are many parks in Bulleen which makes it suitable for families.

"Good with splashes of bad"
Located 12km north east of Melbourne’s CBD and bordered by the Yarra River, Bulleen is home to some 10,000 residents. Its neighbours include Heidelburg, Viewbank, Templestowe Lower, Doncaster, Balwyn North, Kew East and Ivanhoe East but Bulleen itself is ideally suited to families, though some semi-legal adult entertainment operations are known to exist in the area. Boasting sporting grounds, reserves, playgrounds and park areas which provide residents with bike and walking tracks, picnic areas, BBQs, billabongs and an archery range, Bulleen is also home to a main shopping complex with a library, post office, medical centre, business centre, supermarket, takeaway outlets, cafes and restaurants. There are also catholic primary and secondary schools, a specialist school and two pre schools in Bulleen as well as a cricket club, model aeroplane club, football club, golf club, women’s basketball club, tennis centre and swim centre. Buses service the area and link Bulleen with the CBD and the nearby Eastern Freeway.

You lived ON mannigham road, that's the worst place to live out of every street in Bulleen, every main road including even Toorak Rd has some weird people every once in a while. FYI as a person who lives in an actual street away from the main roads, I do not share your experience, and none of my neighbours do too :)))) But I do agree with you , Mark Di Giulio really is a liar.
