Dodgy con artist businesses, rude and racist customer service everywhere, abusive council and schools if you have children. Do not recommend living here, and if you are renting the real estate agents are very unprofessional. This is a tourist town that relies on taking money where they're not experienced or caring to do so. They are a close net of people that are very particular about who comes into their community they want you to be a Hipster paying $10 for coffee and funding their churches.

Mandurah is lovely, so many schools, shops, houses, beaches, so many opportunities and extra curricular activities, friendly people and the foreshore that is being renovated is just beautiful! Such a great vibe, you gotta come visit it's an amazing place to live with kids and so many schools to choose from. Just 45 minutes from Perth and 2 hours to Dunsbourough! There's no where else I'd want to be.

We've travelled around Australia and couldn't get passed Mandurah. It has the best of all worlds. Mountains, beach, winery region, marinas and gorgeous weather most of the year. We love the people and the ease of getting around on bikes or by car to visit our favourite eateries... A stunning place to live... but shhhh don't tell everyone or they'll all want to come here

I'm from Victoria and I will say this. You will not find another place anywhere in Australia that offers what Mandurah does. With amazing beaches at your doorstep, and only a 50 minute train ride into Perth city, then considering the affordable housing, sorry, but you won't find such a place anywhere else. I've lived all over Australia, and I can attest to the fact that this place is a gem. With that said, I believe the house prices will sky rocket in the future as more and more people discover this place. Particularly overseas and interstate investors. There's a good range of restaurants and cafes, and all the major shops you could ever need. In addition to the stunning beaches, the Peel Inlet is a huge asset and draw card. I think the people complaining about cost of living are renters that don't want to see prices increase, though all I can say is go and visit Melbourne or Sydney and you will then know what expensive is. I wont be going anywhere. This place offers everything I need for my family and more, and I enjoy the commute to the CBD for work. You can't beat this small parcel of paradise for value, quality of life and clean air!

Whilst I don't live in Mandurah, I run a real estate business and I am constantly surprised at the affordability for quality homes in the area. With only being a 45min train commute to the City, I would be seriously considering Mandurah if you have a small family and looking for a big family home.
Close to the beaches and everything on your doorstep makes it a simple easy family life.

All you need to know is, it's a clicky place, it's still on the same page as Waroona (not with the times), when you see other cities in Australia this place looks more and more uneducated, it's a very opinionated town, very sensitive about their way or the highway. Once you live in Perth, you'll never want to return here.

As i have a holiday house down at mandurah i count it as a nice place to live and everyone is nice, the beaches are beautiful.
