Reviews of Molendinar, QLD
"Great Suburb"
We recently purchased in Molendinar. It wasn’t our first choice but after 16 offers on houses failing (all over asking price) we started to look at suburbs we hadn’t visited previously. After living here a few months it has been absolutely wonderful and better than Robina where we lived for 12 months. It is extremely central and great value for money, everything is so close and the blocks are a decent size, mostly 600sqm +. The location reminds me of Buderim on the Sunshine Coast where we lived for 5 years because, although it isn’t on the beach, it is close enough to go every day and within 10 to 15 mins of many shopping centres. It is 5 minutes from public, Catholic and private schools (walking distance depending on house location), walking distance to Griffith uni and also the GC University hospital. There are sporting clubs around, gyms and martial arts etc. The reserves are full of wildlife and many birds visit our house daily -butcher, magpie, kookaburras, cockatoos etc. We are in Crestwood and I would definitely recommend it. It is quiet and people are friendly. We’ve heard that some long time Gold Coasters think this area isn’t the best, but that was a while ago and mostly the older part. When I drive through the older section it appears people are starting to improve their houses. There is no reason this suburb should have a bad image. I’ve driven through so many bad areas around Australia and Molendinar is not even close to being one. Parts are very modern and upmarket. The proximity to everything determines that it will only become more worthwhile as time goes on. This area of Molendinar is full of huge houses (internal 400sqm), extremely comfortable and built within the last 15 or so years (and many backing into reserves). A lot of people don’t know about Crestwood and are surprised how excellent it is when they visit for the first time.

"Great suburb"
A very safe and convenient suburb close to hospital and uni. Also very close to central Gold Coast and the beach however much more affordable than many surrounding suburbs. This is a very underrated place.

"Extremely underrated"
Molendinar was originally quite a functional suburb but with the reduction in industry has opened up to become a truly central and great value place to live. The hospital, uni, Surfers, Broadwater Parklands, schools, HOTA - everything is fairly equidistant from Molendinar.
Very good community too and peaceful due to the hilly nature of the area.

"Walking distance to new University Hospital"
Have lived in Molendinar for the last 4 years and found it to be perfect for friendly neighbours (great neighbourhood watch program in place) but not nosey or intrusive, convenience to local shopping (including IGA,Bunnings etc) and schools, central to entire Gold Coast with easy public transport and most importantly walking distance to Griffith Uni and new GC Hospital :)

"Casuarina Drive - good area-caring neighbours"
We orinally lived in first street of area then sold out as the area developed.
Came back as we missed being close o everything and also the quiet peace. Hear the birds in the morning and you could be in the middle of the bush. Good to see people, families out walking and with their dogs. Yes, and kids do play in the street, but are not noisy or a problem- it's great hear them laughing and playing.
