"Contemporary beachside haven with yacht club, marina, schools and shops"
Newhaven is renowned for its newly built yacht club, popular marina and the new Saltwater Phillip Island restaurant with a nearby pier. The suburb is also in an advantageous position to enjoy the many amenities of San Remo but at a more affordable price. The Newhaven back beach, Newhaven Cove Beach featuring picturesque pine trees and the Rennison Bight beach are very popular offering beaches on either side of the suburb. The St Paul's Estate is also a historic beachfront site and is popular with tourists. Newhaven Primary School is also very popular along with the highly desirable Newhaven College. Newly built houses have really transformed the look of the suburb and made it a contemporary beachside haven. The shops near the 'Big Wave' are also very modern with vibrant trees along with the IGA supermarket over the opposite front side of Phillip Island Rd. Being close to the Phillip Island Habour Bridge also makes for a pleasant sight during sunset and nighttime with the lights glisten on the water. Forrest Avenue is particularly envied offering panoramic bay views.
