"Westbury Resident"

I have moved back to Westbury after a hiatus. In that time the IGA has moved to a bigger and better location, there is a wine room, a distillery and a couple of other changes. It is still a lovely country town. The village green is the perfect place for a picnic or barbecue for families. The town common is the perfect off leash area for dogs. The post office has a range of gift items and books. There are plenty of food choices. It is quiet and safe. House prices have dramatically increased over the years. I guess everybody wants to move to Westbury as houses don't stay on the market for a long time. This is my home and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else.

"Beautiful Small Town"

Westbury is approximately a 20 minute drive
to Launceston. The Westbury Village Green is a perfect spot for a picnic with beautiful maintained grass and a play ground for the kids, the Sailor Food truck also visits here for dinner every Wednesday.

"Historic Community Town"

Westbury is a small country town with a real community feel. Located 20 minutes from Launceston, Westbury is built up with many local conveniences as well as smaller chains such as IGA that makes country living very accommodating. Westbuy sees a mixture of heritage buildings and homes as well as newer builds, character homes and also farms with acreage. With markets and events such as flower shows regularly as well as the Historic Village, Westbury has plenty to attract people from all walks of life!

"Small Country Town"

Westbury is located 30kms West of the city of Launceston. It is a very family friendly town with ample activities such as Pearns Steam World, Vintage Tractor Shed and the Westbury Maze. The community of Westbury are very friendly and the town itself is well serviced with everything you need and more!

"Lovely place to wander the streets with the dog and kids"

We have lived here a year and now unfortunately we have to move for work purposes. We have loved living here. There is a bit of traffic on Meander Valley Road at some times of the day (inc the odd tractor which my little boy loves) but once you head off onto side streets barely a car will pass you. Great suburb for stroiling with the dog and kids as it's quite flat. There are beautiful views of the mountains and over the fields as far as Ben Lomand mountains. Lots of farm animals to amuse the kids. Some beautiful old homes. Friendly people and a well serviced town (iga, post office, police, fire station, library, hair dresser, bakeries, chemist, drs, petrol station, vet, bottle shop/pub, butcher, bank, churches ...). The town common is great for the dog and the village green is lovely for a play and picnic. Cricket and/or football at the oval. A recreation centre (with Play gym sessions for 0-5yos). Pearns steam world is interesting and the maze is quite fun. Deloraine is a short drive away. And Launceston is just down the hwy. Have really enjoyed living here. Thank you Westbury!

"We have travelled the world and we chose to live in Westbury"

The most beautiful place to live. The most perfect rural idle. 30 mins from Launceston. World class trout fishing and hill climbing. 40 minutes from stunning beaches. Breath taking scenery. Fertile soil for garden lovers. A perfect climate, seasons and rain fall, a garderners delight. All the amenities you need within walking distance; bank, supermarket, post office, coffee shop, resturant, bakery (the wood fired White House Bakery has amazing bread and cakes), chemist, antique shop, library, doctor, vet, bottleshop, pub, B&B's, town hall, Meander Valley Council, schools, churches, fitness centre and great bus services. All of this in an idyllic location with historic buildings, friendly locals and no traffic. What more could you ask for?

"A lovely historic village which is close enough to the city but close enough to the country"

Westbury is only 25 minutes from Launceston, so it is a very easy commute if necessary. Westbury has all you really need, IGA, bank, vet, doctors, butcher, fitness facilities, parks, Meander Valley Council, churches, playgrounds, post office, hairdressers, petrol station, restaurants, B & B's, pub, bottle store, takeaways and more. It is not a big village, but big enough. 15 minutes away is Deloraine which is a bigger service town if you require more services. Westbury has great parks and recrwtaion facilities with the Village Green, Common and Recration Ground all being available and free fro all to use. It has lots of trees and has picturesque vistas of the Great Western Tiers and farmland.

"Great for families and retirees alike"

I like living at Westbury. I can walk down the road and feel safe, admiring the green surroundings of the parks. It has a supermarket, bank, 2 doctors, 1 vet, 1 petrol station, 1 library, 2 takeaways, 1 chemist and 1 pub. It has more than enough in its own right, and is only 15 minutes away from another rural town or 30 minutes away from Tasmania's 2nd biggest city. Westbury has about 1000 residents.
