"Woolooware, nestled in Sydney’s Sutherland Shire, is a suburb that combines coastal charm with relaxed, family-friendly living"
Woolooware, nestled in Sydney’s Sutherland Shire, is a suburb that combines coastal charm with relaxed, family-friendly living. Just over 25km south of the Sydney CBD, it’s accessible via both train and car, making it a convenient option for commuters who still want that laid back beachside lifestyle. The suburb is best known for its proximity to the vibrant hub of Cronulla, offering locals the best of both worlds a quieter, more residential feel with cafes, beaches, and restaurants just minutes away.Education-wise, Woolooware is well-served by several reputable schools, including Woolooware Public School and Woolooware High School, both of which are valued for their strong community engagement and academic programs. There’s also good access to nearby private schools and early learning centres, which makes the area particularly attractive for young families.Green space is a major highlight here. Parks like Woolooware Bay Shared Pathway and Captain Cook Playing Fields provide room to move, whether it’s for weekend sport, a walk by the water, or just letting the kids run free. You’re never far from the shoreline either, with the stunning Port Hacking waterways and Cronulla beaches just around the corner, offering countless options for kayaking, swimming, or simply enjoying a coastal breeze. In terms of dining, Woolooware has a growing café scene and is only a stone’s throw from Cronulla’s buzzing restaurant strip, where locals enjoy everything from casual brunches to elegant seafood dinners with an ocean view. Whether you're a local footy fan heading to Shark Park or someone seeking a lifestyle that blends convenience, calm, and connection to nature, Woolooware continues to grow in popularity for good reason. It’s a suburb with heart, where the community spirit is just as strong as the sea breeze.

"Woolooware North, Woolooware"
Woolooware is a great place to live. Neighbours are friendly and helpful. This place is much better than where I used to live before (Canterbury area). My daughter is very delight to attend at Primary Public School where she feels that she has learnt new things every day. Teachers and classmates are very kind. No traffic congestion and beaches are so beautiful.

"Unfriendly and judgemental residents"
If you can afford to have a new BMW or live on the water then you will love this area. If you visit the local schools you will see the types of Mums picking up their kids. The ones dressed to the nines parking their new 4wd smothered in bling and the mums who have walked to the school and look like they have spent the day caring for kids and doing housework rather than directing the cleaner on what to do next.
This suburb has a big issue with what side of the fence you are on financially, kids as young as 5 are being questioned on the labels they wear and the occupations or residential status of their parents.
If you want you children to grow up level headed with good manners then I would not recommend you do do in this suburb, but if you dont mind your kids being spoilt brats who are rude to people and have no manners then you will love the attitude of the locals.
Expesive council rates , bad roads full of pot holes and overgrown trees covered safety mirrors on blind spots, terrible to try and park, expensive for everything limited choice of schools, very good if you make the burraneer bay school line, terrible if you end up at Cronulla Public school as Cronulla is full of 1-2 bedroom units which single mothers and low income earners pile their whole families into just so they can stay in " the shire".
Do your homework and meet the locals before you commit to buy

"Only if the locals think you fit in"
Snobby, rude, no parking, unfriendly and judgemental unless you grew up there, shame for the locals that as time goes on they work out most of their snobby kids can not afford to buy in the area which leaves those who are handed everything on a silver "south" platter. The riots are gone but the sentiment is still there,Best thing I did was leave and return to the Gold Coast, especially do not miss the shire attitude or the high school drop outs roaming the streets, I almost forgot, the police sirens going all weekend and all hours , you can even hear them from the culdesacs in burraneer, a true aussie occa nightmare of a suburb with no class.

"Cute culdesacs and great school"
The family friendly culdesacs are are safe haven for kids to play and feel safe and Burraneer Bay school is just around the corner, if you are lucky enough to get a great spot you will never be sorry, highly recommended, premier spots include Elm place, Coral road and English street, all of which have a great atmosphere and lovely neighbours.

OMG! This street is the perfect place to bring up a family. A cul de sac street , with many children and LOTS of fun to be had. On the golf course(with members access) close to shops, transport, beach & clubs, this is the best street in north Wooloolware!!!! Footy games just a minute away!!!
