Best Areas To Live Within a Easy Commute of Brisbane CBD?

Best area to live for this middle aged married Aussies without lets or kids in residence within close commuter distance to Brisbane for hubs work? So train station and or public transport. ( coming from the uk after living OS since 2001 in USA & UK). To Rent initially!
We are aussies looking to emigrate back home from the uk. I'll be launching a Domestic Cleaning Agency incorporating a extensive list of other Cleaning Services offering Options
we have a few good friends on SC, we would like to live where we can enjoy waterviews and green space walks. A safe area with friendly locals with a Community Spirit and good pubs.
Preferred - plenty going on or a quick and easy access to where it's all at including shopping
Formerly lived in Blue Mountains, Sydney City and on Central Coast; so unfamiliar with all QLD areas for being a suitable residential area? Any help would be greatly appreciated :-)
