Where should we live on the Sunshine Coast?

My partner and I are soon to be graduating from University and are wanting to make the move up to QLD from regional SA. We are thinking about making the move to the Sunshine Coast, however, we want to hear some advice from those who live in QLD due to our lifestyle needs and preferences. We are open to all suggestions.
About us:
- We will both be first-year teachers so employment is important.
- We come from a small town that experiences 40+ degree days with dry heat so the summer weather isn't a problem for us.
- We are not large city people, however, love adventuring and having plenty of things to do in our spare time.
- We would love to have access to nature. E.g. beaches, mountains, parks.
- We are looking for QLD to be the place we settle. Therefore, we would love to find an area that is safe and great for our future family.
- My partner plays football and basketball.
- We are looking for somewhere affordable.
