Reviews of Swanston Street, Carlton

"Perfect inner city living with easy access to Melbourne University and RMIT University"

The north of Swanston Street, which is towards the University of Melbourne, is a vibrant part of the inner city of Melbourne, due to the steady influx of local and international students to the University. With the expansion of the University since the late 1990s (I have stayed on this street since 1998), more restaurants and cafes are starting to operate in this area, predominately Asian flavour to cater for the international students community.

Public transports such as trams and buses are abundant, and walking distance to the CBD takes approximately 20 minutes. Its’ near proximity to Lygon Street, Victoria Market, medical facilities (such as the Royal Melbourne Hospital, Royal Women’s Hospital, Royal Children’s Hospital and Royal Dental Hospital) and schools (such as University High School in Parkville) make it a very liveable spot.

With frequent public lectures after business hours at the University and Melbourne Business School, this spot will be an attractive option for those who seek intellectual inspiration.
