New "Hoon law" - mobile evidence could be used

Ive noticed a few other people on here have been talking about the hoons in the area, especially on Serpells Road I got in the mail over the weekend the Templestowe community letter showing the new hoon law has been a great success...yet i haven't noticed a decrease in the amount of hoons in the area. The problem is that most of them happen at night and while i would report them if I knew their number plates, i can't see them cus i am in bed when i hear them the most.

I did hear on the radio this morning that people might soon be able to send in mobile phone footage of hoons in action to be used as evidence, so i was thinking of setting up a camera out the front of my house to capture them. It would be a sweet victory to have those hoons in jail for a few days from my captured footage.

I think if enough people send in evidence something will get done, maybe speed humps in key areas. I remember the problems they had on King Street with the quality of the roads which residents felt was very unsafe. It took a while but King St got it's new traffic lights and road improvements.

We've seen quite a few hoons going up Reynolds road late at night. Occasionally you hear the policy sirens as they catch someone.

There used to be a big problem going down Church Road, between Serpells and Reynold, as people go downhill they would try and get the speed up. I remember some huge skid marks from burnouts.
