I've seen a house to rent in Thornbury near the Salvation Army Corps wondering how safe the area is

I've seen a house to rent in Thornbury near the Salvation Army Corps. I am not really aware of this establishment. Having looked online it looks like a church. Whilst I am sure that the Salvation Army do alot of good.. I am concerned that it may have a resource centre attached to it and may bring in people who be on substance abuse/drugs. I just want to make sure its safe. Anyone know the area and have any comments? Much appreciated/
