"Convenient"

If you are looking for a quiet leafy surburb, well this isn't it. Move to The Gap, Ashgrove, Bardon ,etc. If you are looking for somewhere convenient to the city ( bus and train), good shopping ( westfield) movies, restaurants etc well they are here. Not my ideal suburb for families but young professionals, retired and singles, uni students it is pretty good. It is not a bogan area with a dangerous feel ( like many suburbs around Logan or Ipswich). I feel safe here even late at night.. It is not where I would build my dream home but it is what it is.

The Gap

"Beautiful Gap"

The Gap is like a cul de sac surrounded by green. It's a beautiful suburb with a village feel yet still close to the city. Close knit community but always welcoming to new residents. Upper middle class but not snobby. Beautiful and safe. Ive not seen a better place to live in Brisbane.

Woodridge

"Unbelievable previous reviews"

Can't understand how people are giving this suburb such high marks. It is a TERRIBLE area and I wouldnt feel safe at night round here. Why Logan gets it Bogan jokes is due in no small way to Woodridge. Shabby old houses and dodgy people. STAY WELL CLEAR is my advice.

Dear aande61 .... as long as your status is ... " visited the area " the rest of us will remain content . Keep your snobbery elsewhere ! I live there , I have lived in the CBD . The people in Woodridge speak to each other at least .

Mate, you have obviously had a bad experience or you listen to those "bogan jokes" a little to much. My advice to you would be to move into the area for a phew months go for a walk at night, you might be supprised that the area is not so different to any Brisbane suburb until then its probably better to review a suburb your a little more familiar with. (Please take the advice in a positive non offensive manner I would ask).

I moved here from the gold coast almost 8 years ago and have never had a problem or incident. The majority of people are down to earth battlers and it is very central. 20 minutes to the city,Gold Coast,or Ipswich. Everything you need is only five minutes drive away. If it wasn't safe at night you wouldn't see girls walking home on there own late.I like it here and the markets on Sunday morning are the best

I think aande61 is living under a rock regarding his opinion about Woodridge... I don't this person has ventured out much at all. Sounds like he is a snob, only likes his cafe culture serving expensive coffee.

Logan Central

"Invest umm maybe. Live NEVER"

I would never live in the Greater Logan area as I just wouldnt feel safe for my kids. But I am thinking of buying an investment property here as I always believe it is a good investment principle to buy buy in a 'bad' surburb which borders a 'good' suburb and wait till the 'good' eventually pushes the 'bad' further out.

Yep, aande61, has proven they live under a rock. Get out of your snobby designer clothes and explore how you can make it by buying a tidy, roomy, extremely affordable family house in Woddridge and Logan Central.

My husband, myself and our gorgeous 3 year old son live in Logan Central. We bought our first property here in 2007, our second in 2009. Then sold our first to try and avoid another rental in the area. We love it. Great neighbors, close to everything. 2 minutes from the pacific hwy and Logan motorway.
I was a bank manager for 12 years and now a stay at home mum - could not have had that blessing had we bought elsewhere with a large mortgage. My husband has a trade. I have had no trouble what so ever and I am home with my son daily. We walk to the shops, have spent 100k on our renovations with no fear of over capitalizing as we don't plan on moving. the mortgage is small enough to have many lifestyle options.

I believe it starts with the people living here / buying here to start telling it how it really is living here. I love it!! Logan is a very large area, the news always says Logan when something goes wrong....yet they will state the Brisbane suburb name. It does not help the area of Logan and a good story doesn't sell.
Yes there are some bad little pockets, though I have to admit, in the last 10 years, I have seen a huge improvement with these pockets as well. resident are saying no to these kinds of behaviors and are calling the police on any socially unexceptionable behaviors and this is making a difference.

So please don't consider this suburb as an investment, rather than an affordable option to live. You will not regret it.

I bought a home in Kingston in 2015. I have good neighbours and this city is reshaping everyday for the better. From people I have spoken to, Logan is to be one of the fastest growing cities in Qld. Its about what its becoming, not what it has been. Logan Central is only about 25 mins drive from Brisbane City and prices are less than half of many brisbane suburbs. This screams opportunity to me.
