We moved out her as we wanted our own little house with a backyard. Bought a little 2 bed that had been renovated on 600m2 and have really easy mortgage payments even though we didn't have the 20% deposit.
It's true that the neighborhood is patchy, eg some pockets that are grubby and seem like there is bad folks there. However when we moved in all the local neighbors came over and introduced themselves, they even threw a BBQ so we could meet everyone!
Our mini neighborhood is wonderfully quiet with trees and birds.
It seems that the commission housing is being sold off by the council? It may all have been sold by now though I could be wrong about this?
I was worried about crime and parking my car outside and all that but after nearly a year we haven't had any problems.
Mahalang reserve is a big nearby park with nice facilities but yeah some of the kids up there are pretty badly behaved and sweary, I would definately supervise kids up there
Overall though it's a much better lifestyle than we had in a swanky Richmond appartment and we will stay here for the foreseeable future
