Used to have a quaint village feel, not any more. More crowded than ever and more crime than there used to be. Locals have all gone elsewhere. Mostly tenanted now.

Lived here, but not for long. Full of high rises/holiday rentals, no owner occupiers, next to an airport (noise 24/7) and pretty much as low as you can get without being in the water. We felt vulnerable as there was an increasing number of break ins during our time there. Moved to Buderim and love it.

We rented here - planes constantly flying overhead. Word has it that could become international airport - soooo there will be more planes flying overhead? You’re down by the water in an era where the water is rising and insurance companies don’t want to insure you. Full of high rises.

Expensive to live here but the main thing going for it is the markets and not much else happening. Lots of friends we know have been looking to get out for a while.

Flooded in 2022, too low lying and close to water. Why would you bother?

Seemed to always be about ‘who’s who’ in Coolum, with everyone interested in your business. In our experience it’s stand still traffic most of the time and the properties were overpriced and mostly tenanted. Friends of ours moved here and had moved to buderim with 1 year.

We looked at some properties here before setting elsewhere. It just had that undeniable ‘Estate’ feel where your neighbours can see and hear your conversations, and you’re all just too close to each other. Most houses were tenanted and we just couldn’t stand the ‘feel’. Lots of talk about break ins from people we know who live there.

You won’t find many coast folks here nowadays. Very much taken over by the south east folks and feels like we’ve lost. A bit of charm. Time for us to move on. You no longer feel like a ‘castaway’ here
