"By the airport, flood risk"

We rented here - planes constantly flying overhead. Word has it that could become international airport - soooo there will be more planes flying overhead? You’re down by the water in an era where the water is rising and insurance companies don’t want to insure you. Full of high rises.

Is there anywhere you would recommend for young families? We've been looking online but all over the place from interstate trying to work out where would best suit us

"Great beach community"

I've lived in Marcoola, town of seaside for almost 20 years. It's a great place to raise a family as it's safe and i've loved the community feel. Easy access to the beach and nice friendly cafes and restaurants. The Surf Club has a fantastic nippers program too.

"Marcoola and Town of the Seaside"

Situated adjacent to Marcoola the town of the Seaside boasts an American style feel with mostly weatherboard homes. There are some newer homes closer to the beach that are rendered. The long surf beach is a hidden gem within walking distance of all these houses. There is a small coffee shop on the corner and other small businesses are starting to pop up in the small precinct on the corner.

Both Marcoola and Town of the Seaside are Located only a 10 minute drive to the Sunshine Coast Airport or to get onto the Sunshine motorway makes it a great option for people wanting to work further down the coast or in Brisbane but wanting to come home to their seaside home.

Both of these are very quiet areas with sounds of the waves able to be heard from the large majority of homes. There is a large pond as you drive in to Town of the seaside and lots of playgrounds spread around the estate.

Coolum Beach is only a 10 minute drive away and there is a large IGA located about 5 minutes away. Mt. Coolum sits as the backdrop and its a lovely way to see the sunrise to take a hike up Mt. Coolum.

Marcoola is a great place to live, with shops just around the corner the beach 3 minutes away from your very own home, a huge big track to ride your bike along and the people are just so great in marcoola. Marcoola is a great place to live espiecially with children there are parks at your door step and plenty of other kids to get along with not to mention tha fact that there are plenty of bus stops and restraunts within 5 minutes of driving. Why not move to marcoola?

Great for

  • Beach is at your doorstep
  • Plenty of parks
  • Great tracks to ride of walk along

Not great for

  • There needs to be more bbq areas
  • Still some roads that need to be fixed and made smooth

"Beautiful beaches"

Marcoola has some of the most beautiful beaches on the coast, and they are not as crowded as the ones at Moolooaba, and Coolum. It's a gorgeous spot. There are resorts all along David Low way. Resort living is a sweet lifestyle with morning and afternoon walks along the beach.

Marcoola is a great spot the only downside is that it's close to the airport, and you can often hear the planes landing and taking off, but none of the locals really mind.

There are some local shops, including The Candoo Cafe, they make some great pizza's, and Coolum Body Balance does great remedial massage therapy. There's a great Chinese restaurant there too.

"1.5 years in paradise"

For 1.5 years my dream of living a 5 minute walk from spectacular coastline was a reality. I had often wondered if you would eventually take for granted and even tire of the 180 degree views of everchanging surf and cloud formations, the long walks on clean shell strewn sand, the many kilometers of bike-paths, the easy reach of beaches that have different wave formations depending upon the prevailing wind direction - all round, the clean, healthy living that is offered by living next door to one of the most spectacular and relaxing natural wonders of the world. Well, the answer is that I did not take it for granted. It is only due to family commitments that I have temporarilly moved back to Brisbane. I will be return to Marcoola. I highly recommend the quiet, peaceful, healthy living that Marcoola offers to anyone who values such rare luxuries. Enjoy!

"Relaxed atmosphere"

Marcoola is a great place it is relaxed beach community with no passing traffic, great coffee shops nearby. It also has two championship golf courses, where you can use facilities, as well as beaches that are not crowded. Shops are not too far away. 5 Klm to coolum & a short drive to Mudjimba or Maroochy.

"Marcoola - Great beachside town close to all amenities."

Marcoola is between Maroochydore and Coolum of the Sunshine Coast. Marcoola is a small coastal town with much to offer. The beach is great and surfing, sea kayaking etc are all popular. The nearby national parks offer good views and walking experience. All accommodation in Marcoola is virtually on the beach with International style motels and resorts offering all the comforts. There are a great number of apartments in the area and can be purchased for a fair price although prices have risen considerably in the past few years. Close to Maroochydore, Marcoola is only minutes from major shops and other facilities.
